Shamrock and the mole holes

Outside in the cat enclosure, I've noticed more and more mole holes.
There are even some 2x4's adjacent to the concrete slab that is sort
of a patio out there because grass doesn't really grow and it
provides a walkway over the mud when it rains, and the moles have
come up in between the slats leaving piles of dirt. Actually if truth
be known, my entire property must be zig-zagged underground with a
complete metropolis of mole expressways judging by the condition of
the grass, and knee-wrenching walks across it. Mowing is fun.  Heh.
Anyway, the holes that Shamrock has access to fascinate him. He will
spend hours pouncing the holes, and digging deeper holes. Then he
tears through the cat flap running through the house then runs back
through the flap outside again without a hesitation. A sheer contrast
to Shadow who carefully makes his way through so doesn't catch his
tail in it. lol  Shamrock's already caught cicadas and I think soon
he's going to find a mole and bring that in, too. Oh joy.

Marble uses the mole hills in my lawn to dig in and then use as a toilet...
Sadly, the moles don't seem to succumb to Marble's attempts at biological
warfare.

Holes are some of the best things there is.  So are walls that the
interesting object can escape behind.  Shamrock has an ideal setting
for Kitty Whack-A-Mole!

report :)

Mole holes are wonderful entertainment. It's really funny to watch. Frank stays
there for hours. He must be able to hear the mole moving around, because he
sits with his nose almost to the ground sometimes and cocks his head, it's so
cute.

Not as of yet. lol I'm not opening the flap up that often right now.
We have had sooo much rain lately and it is a mess out there. The
enclosure is at the bottom of a hill and I'm having serious mud
slides going on out there. I still see a lot of mole activity though.
That mud must be easier to dig through. bleh

Time for a mole joke. There was a mole family in a mole hole right next to a
farmhouse. One morning the farmer's wife is making breakfast. The papa mole
goes up to the opening of the mole hole and says, "I smell maple syrup." The
mama mole comes up behind him and says "I smell honey and brown sugar." The
baby mole comes up after her and says "I smell molasses." ;-)
