I wasn't ready to have to write this. Mike's too-low blood pressure
kept dropping; this afternoon he went into shock and went to the RB at
our TED's office. I can't even begin to think how much I'm going to
miss him.
Mike deserves more than this, but I just can't write more. Thank you
all for the purrs and prayers for my boy.

Krista, I'm in shock. I can't believe that Mike is gone. When they
found that his hypertension was so bad it made him go blind, well,
clearly aggressive treatment was necessary. When he went the other
way and you caught that, it seemed that they were beginning to get a
good idea of what the right dose for him was, and that he was on his
way to recovery.
You loved Mike, and we all loved Mike and loved hearing about him, and
all of sudden, he's gone. I'm so sorry.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Krista. Losing a beloved cat is so hard! We
spend more time with them than we do with many human family members, and
they give us floods of unconditional love , in return. ANd they leave
couches, beds, and sunny windowsills so empty when we lose them. I was
sobbing out in the vet clinic's parking lot when I had to send Isadora
across the Rainbow Bridge, so I sincerely empathize with your sadness.

Rusty and I send you very special hugs and prayers today and Hobbes,
Selena and Lacey send their most sincere purrs and gentle headbutts. I
remember when we got together at the mall in Macon and spent hours in
Applebee's sharing photographs and stories of Mikey and Hobbes and
Selena (Lacey wasn't a part of our family then). The love you both have
for Mikey was so very obvious and I know you are hurting now. Hopefully
soon the pain will be replaced with all the fond memories the two of you
have of your little blue boy. I shall light a Mikey candle tonight to
help guide his way over the Bridge.

Krista:
I'm sorry that I didn't read this sooner - my computer is dead. I've
just borrowed someone else's computer to read the group posts.
I'm *so* sad and shocked to hear about Mike. It must have been a
pretty terrible experience for you at TED and I'm sorry that you all
had to go through that.
Mike was sure lucky that he was so loved and cared for by you and
Dave. He has lots of good purrs to help him to the bridge.
Big hugs and big purrs for you and Dave - I know that this will be a
hard time for you.
Thinking of you,
