Have your hair cut?

Hehe, everyone is asking me that now. No, not yet. I don't have my hair
appointment until the 2nd, so I have a couple of weeks to think about it. I
didn't want to do it until my holiday starts. But I haven't decided yet.

My Mum asked me that today on the phone, and then she asked in a very
worried voice, "you're not going to have it all shaved off, are you?" No,
that's not on the agenda this time. Maybe when I turn 50. ;o)

Hey, I had a thought!  You could just get corn braids!  That way, it would
be so easy to take care of, but you wouldn't be cutting it all off.  Just
don't get the beads on the ends, they are heavy and noisy.  I think they can
weave the ends together somehow.  I had braids done one time and it was
pretty cool.  You can still wash your hair and they can last a couple of
months or more depending on how fast your hair grows.  I think it would look
neat with your hair colour :-)

Another vote for corn brainds here!

If not corn braids, can you got o a phsyiotherapist and ask for ways of
doing your hair that won't hurt so much? Physios are great with different
techniques and handy gadgets - mine saved me from a very painful pregnancy
back by recommending that I sleep with a "body pillow" and do some very
simple stretches (I'd gone in for a massage but he oly gave me advice
because I was too pregnant to lie on the table for a back massage!). The $40
I spent of the physio's plust the $50 onthe body pillow was the best $90 I
spent - no more back pain, and one very comfy and versatile pillow.

I have thought of corn braids for the summer before. But but. I don't know
now.

<snip good advice>

Well, I'm really leaning towards the snip ATM. Someone mentioned Judy Dench,
and that is pretty much the cut I would like. At least it *looks* like
minimum maintenance is required. I also liked the hairstyle of the Swedish
writer Sara Lidman (who just passed away - my condolences), which was pretty
much the same as Dench's.

However, The Lady in the Street still spooks me a little, but maybe that
will have passed in a few weeks, when I have the appt.

Do they sell hairstyle magazines in Finland?  Before I got my hair cut
short, I got a couple of magazines and marked some pictures of styles I
liked.  Then I went to the hairdresser and asked if my hair would go in that
style easily and be low maintenance.  We ended up doing a bit of one style
and a bit of another.  I find if it's short on the sides, it's very easy.  I
just wash, towel dry and put in some mousse and move it into the style with
my fingers.  Air dry and go.  If I want it to be less crunchy and more
manageable, I'll rub in some wax after it's dried, that way you can re-style
it with your fingers all day with no additional product.

I'd never heard of hairstyle magazines before, but I went to a big paper
store and yes, they had shelves and shelves of them! (just exaggerating a
little here) One Finnish, a couple of Swedish ones, and the rest English
(didn't check if they were British or American). I don't want to have to add
anything to my hair, just wash and air dry, so it will have to be really
short. A real boy cut.
