We love Sundays

Many Sundays we don't leave the house, save to go eat breakfast and
maybe work around the garden a bit. The cats love having us around all
day and I must admit, Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Just being
at home with a cat or two by your side, reading a book or just listening
to music... that's what life's all about! :)
Yesterday I was in a reading frenzy (I finished my book and started the
next one on my list), but Basho was determined to be loved. We came to
an understanding: I'd keep petting him with my right hand, and he would
not sit on my book. :)
Now it's Monday morning and I'm heading out to work... :(

I couldn't agree more. It's the "normal" things that are important to me. And I
love my home and enjoy just being here with the people/furpeople I love.

And I agree as well!  When I was working my last job, I was desperate to
escape because I hated the work. Now I'm doing a job that I enjoy, but
it keeps me away from home for weeks at a time. SO now I'm desperate to
return to a job - just about any job - that allows me to go home every
night. Why? So I can enjoy the regular little things - sitting out in
the yard with the kitties, having one or more kitties curl up with me
when I go to bed, getting "welcom home" meows when I walk in the door.

Yup, that's how Dennis feels.  It's so hard for him to be away for 6 weeks
at a time.  Well, it's only 5 weeks now, but who knows how long that will
last?  The 5 or 6 weeks off is wonderful of course.  But it seems to go by
so much faster than the time he's away.  But...YAY!!!!...he's coming home
tomorrow and I'm headed to Bangkok to meet him at the airport and then we're
spending our regular night in the fancy hotel which the company pays for :-)

I sure understand that. My attachment to home and all things "normal" comes
from spending so much time in the hospital, and never knowing when I will end
up in the ER and admitted. Dorothy & Toto are right, "There's no place like
home."

Our oldest cats loves "at home" evenings.  The ones where it is just Charlie
and I and we sit and talk and watch TV or read.  Jake will sprawl in the
middle of the family room floor and look back and forth with pure
contentment on his face.

Put us in the "we love Sunday" column!  We enjoy getting up late with
all of us snuggled in bed together for a little while, sitting out on
the deck reading with the animals sprawled either near or on us....

This is why I play the lottery.  Then I can have Sundays almost every day!

Were you reading anything you'd recommend?

Texas Lotto is up to 120 million this wednesday! :) :) :)

I'm re-reading the Robot novels by Isaac Asimov. Then I'm going to read
the Empire novels, and then the Foundation series. I've never read the
whole thing from start to finish in chronological (story time, not
actual publishing time) order. If you like sci-fi, I highly recommend them.

Wow!  And Texas also participates in MegaMillions which is at 100 Mill
for Tuesday, right?   There could be two very happy ticket holders in
Texas this week.  :-)  Maybe I should come down for a visit to the
nearest Texas 7-11.  :-)  I think the odds of winning the Texas Lotto
are something like 3 x better than winning megamillions.

I haven't read any of them but I we do have them all.  I hunted them
down one Christmas and gave them in hard cover to my husband.  It is
kind of funny.  This was 1984 before anyone ever dreamed what the
internet would be and I was in a used bookstore asking if they had any
of the titles I hadn't run across yet.  The owner said no.  I asked if
there was some kind of used bookstore warehouse he could order them
from.  He went on a tirade about how in a perfect world I could just
access some database and all of the used bookstores that had the book I
wanted would pop up and I could order them from who ever had the best
price but it wasn't like that was ever going to happen , was it?  Guess
I won't be asking him for any lottery numbers.  ;-)

Thanks for the recommendation.  I am a sci fi fan so maybe I'll take a look!

Your Sunday sounds lovely. I like to stay home on Sundays, too. If the
weather's good I can take the cats for long walks, I can take my precious
nap in the middle of the day with kitties curled up around me. Sunday is the
best.
