The Scottish Fold

For obvious reasons, I'm going to try to avoid names.

Imagine a 4 month old white cat with black sploches.  (Or a black cat
with white sploches, whatever suits your fancy)  Now make face white
with a splash of black diagonally across the face.  The nose is very
light pink with a bit of black.

Now you know how with kittens, they are born with their eyes closed
and their ears folded?  Imagine what a kitten would look like if the
ears never fully opened.

Say it with me......

"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!"

The woman claims it's a Scottish fold, but the doctor that sees this
cat, (I work with three doctors) says it's not a true Scottish fold.

Personally I don't care.  The ears alone  make the cat
sooooooooooooooooooo cute!  And the cat LOVES to play.  While in the
cage, I would take my pen and run it along the bars from side to side
and this kitten would be chasing it and sticking its paws between the
bars to try and catch it.

When the owners came, they brought a bag like carrier.  It looks like
a luggage bag with mesh for a kitty.  Once I put this kitten in it,
the bag became a moving mass as the kitten meowed loudly and tried to
get out.  We all had to keep an eye on it so the whole thing wouldn't
fall off the table!

He got neutered on Thursday and went home yesterday.  I soooooo wanted
to take him home.

I think they're cute, too.  I've never seen one in real life, but TJ
once posted a picture of her fursib, Cool Beans, who has folded ears,
and is white with black spots.  We thought he looked like a Holstein
sausage.

(A warning) Hang in there and be prepared to have your heart tugged many,
many times.

Oh I know.  It totally comes with the job.

Try having the vet hand you a 2 month old beagle pup and asking you to
weigh it and take its temperature.  Putting the cute puppy on the
scale is no problem, but now you have to stick a thermometer up its
rear.  There are a few times where I tell the animal, "Sorry" when I'm
about to do something i know they won't like.

Twice, when we were breeding poodles, we had pups with knee problems.  When
the went to start walking they couldn't.  Now these were small toy poodles,
and only about 4 weeks old.  Not weaned yet.

Our vet referred us to an Orthopedic vet who repaired their knees.  Both
times I thought I might have to fight off the tech staff who had been bottle
feeding these guys while in the vets care.  They hated to let them go home.

Something a coworker/classmate told me to do if I'm ever feeling
stressed or frustrated at someone/something.....

And anyone can do this when they are angry...

Go find the cutest puppy/kitten and cuddle it.  That will cheer you
up.

hehehehehe
