Along with Stinky's other bedtime idiosyncracies . . . I usually sleep
on my side, curled up in a semi-fetal position, and Stinky likes to
curl up against my tummy, right where it curves in. And if I turn
over, he gets up, climbs over my hip, and replaces himself on the
other side. ;)

That's Cali's favourite spot too, either that or between my arm and
body, if I sleep on my back. But she won't sleep on the inside of the
bed, I think she may have suffered a rollover at one time and wants a
quick escape route.

Wilson sleeps In my legs just as Henri RB used to,although he's nowhere near
as heavy as Henri was, he gets heavy as he sleeps all night soabout halfway
through the night I get up go to the bathroom and as I get back into bed I
pick him up and take him in with me,where he lays acoss my thighs and Purrs
and kneads till he thinks I'm asleep, then he's off down the bed still under
the covers, and there he stays till morning, and we have a morning rituall,
as soon
as I wake I have to take an antibiotic, If I stand up, he stays where he is,
but
If I sit on the bed he knows I'm going to take the tablet, and he gets upand
rolls on the floor at my feet just close enough for me to rub his tummy with
said feet
waits there while I comb my hair then follows me out to the lounge for his
breakfast sorry to post so much Jean.P.

When I read group bedtime stories I feel guilty. I'm quite a bit under 5ft tall
so Spicey has alot of room at the end of my bed. She often sleeps in my
wheelchair when I'm not in it.

Of course you should feel guilty. Why, you could fit about ten more
cats in there. :P

I like to sleep in that position too. Mischief will come and want to
peek out the window, so she perches on my hip with her front paws on
the windowsill. Then if she decides to jump up she uses my hip as the
springboard.
But then there are times when she perches on my hip and kneads. She
meows her cute, short meow in an attempt to get me scratch her. Then
she settles down for a while.
On a couple of occasions she settles on my chest. But after a while,
she gets interested in something else and leaves.

Oh, yes, there is that King-of-the-Hill posture. I can never believe
why he wants to get up there-- it can't be comfortable, or so I think.
;) He just drapes himself over me.

How cute and annoying. ;)

My legs are usually bookended by Sophie on one side and
Martha on the other. This cuts off manoeuvrability, and
slows getting out of bed in the middle of the night. But
unfortunately my motto seems to be "You're a cat, so you can
do anything you want", and I just put up with it, although
occasionally I try to gently move one of them a bit for at
least a little wiggle room. I feel like the guy in this
delightful animated cartoon (turn up your sound).

I forgot the most interesting thing-- from a behavioral POV-- although
with Stinky, there's always something else. ;) He doesn't stay there
all night-- he'll get up, and go to the kitchen, for example. But
after he does that, he comes back, jumps back on the bed, and has to
get back into the same position. ;)

My solution to this is to move one of my legs, so that each leg is on
either side of one of the cats. That way, at least one leg can move
freely, and that allows me more choices in positions. I have to do this,
or else the lack of freedom of movement will cause me to wake up with
back pain. I am a cat slave, it's true, but I need to be a healthy one!
