We're leavin' in a white van,
we'll meet all the catslaves we can,
the next stop is in Bristol...

OK, I'm writing off the cuff.  We're heading out on our trip early
tomorrow morning.  Friday and Saturday nights will be spent in Bristol
TN/VA.  We'll even be traveling through Carroll County, Virginia where
some of Rob's ancestors once lived.  We hope to be able to stop and find
out a bit about them and take pictures for Rob's family.

We'll see some of you on the road, hope to be able to remember to
develop pictures as we go along, and will try to remember to pass
updates to various people as we go.

Just one major worry.  I haven't seen Pine Cone for a while.

Done it.  Can't find him.  He's still missing.  Am hiding all writing
implements from him now.

I thought that was a freight train? :-)

Just don't ask me to sing it, the cats will all be heading for the
exits.

"I'm leavin' on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again.  Oh babe I
hate to go...."   Mamas & the Papas, circa 1966 or thereabouts.

Ah! You're absolutely right!  I forgot JD wrote it (hey, I got the 1966 part
right!).  And of course it was Peter, Paul & Mary.  DUH!  Well, if you've
lived long enough to remember this crap, it's no wonder you start to forget
some things.  ;)

Cool!  Have a great trip, you guys.  Sounds like a lot of fun and I can't
wait to hear all about it.  Oh, you may want to check all your luggage for
Pine Cone.

Found him hiding behind a plastic box of stuff that we're taking for the
family.  He is too smug and Mandy seems to feel too sorry for him.  I
suspect the worst.

Pam, If you happen to drive through a small (we're talking *small* - Rhode
Island could kick the crap out of them in a war! - sorry, that's a line from
'Arthur' featuring Dudley Moore.  Anyway, small town in west Tennessee
called Brunswick on the way to Memphis, be sure to stop at the combination
laundry-mat/diner.  They serve all you can eat fried catfish on Wednesdays.
I got lost out there once trying to find a shortcut to Target to buy a new
coffee maker.  Just about laughed my a.s off when I saw the sign.  Yep, it's
Tennessee alright!

Have a great trip and no stowaways allowed!
