Christine reports that this morning Spitty gave in and purred while being
held. She said that he will sit on her lap and look up at her and hiss when
she picks him up and pets him, but then he purrs. Today he was rolling
around and letting her rub his tummy.

One a day being tamed. Four down and two to go.

When a couple of Christine's co-workers found out the kittens had long hair,
they backed out, so she needs to find more homes.

This morning the gal at the drive-through coffee place gave her the name and
phone number of a woman who was looking for a longhair female kitten.
Christine is sure that at least one of the six is female, but doesn't know
which are which yet.  She will call the woman to find out the details.

To be continued....

Probably just having problems getting the proper sounds out. It used
to freak people out when Rocky was first letting people pet him. He'd
come over and give them a headbutt to get their attention, and then
hiss when they bent down to pet him. He's over that now, since he
figured out that if he hissed he may not get his scritches.

That seems crazy, to me the appearance of the cat has never been an
issue. I wonder if they were just afraid they'd have to brush the long
hair, or maybe afraid of shedding. Neither makes any sense, though. My
three are all short haired, and love the brush, though Sammy is still
a perpetual motion kitty and can't sit still very long. As for
shedding, these three don't need long hair to cover every thing and
inch of space with hair. I swear there's probably cat hair on the
ledge above the door frame, but never having dusted up there I can't
say for sure. Maybe it's better that these folks don't get a precious
kitten. Of course, maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about,
having never had a long haired cat.

Purrs coming that she can find good forever-homes for everyone.

I've never had a long-haired cat, either, but I know that at least some will
get terrible mats if they are not groomed.  I don't know what the
co-workers' concerns are.  I can't get a good view of the tuxedo kittens in
the photo, but I'd say the gray one is shorthaired.  So far, everyone here
who has voiced an opinion agrees.  I think my DD has mistaken kitten
fuzziness for long hair, so that shouldn't be an issue after all.
I do hope, though, that she can find forever homes for these babies with
people who will treat them right.  She's putting a lot of effort into making
sure the kittens will be socialized and good pets.
