Purrs needed

I could use a few purrs today. I ache all over from a traffic accident
yesterday, and I'm feeling sorry for myself.

There is a stop sign in a residential area near downtown that should be
a four-way stop but isn't. I stopped, gave a casual glance both ways,
started across the street, and slammed right into a Honda Civic. My head
went through the passenger-side window, my elbow went halfway through
the door, my knee went about an inch into my gas tank, and my handlebars
got twisted crossways. Luckily neither of us was going very fast. We
exchanged information and went on our ways. I didn't realize how . .
.um, exciting it can be herding a big motorcycle down the freeway at 70
with one handlebar almost poking me in the ribs and the other so far out
I could barely reach it. But I made it home okay.

Today my neck is stiff and sore, one ankle hurts, and a dozen cases of
road rash are all smarting and vying for attention as to what hurts
worst where.

Sam and Spirit seem to sense all is not well and are doing their best to
cheer me up. Mac, Toby, and Chuckles all want to play, but for some
reason I'm hardly in the mood for it. :-)

Purrs on the way. Thankfully it wasn't any worse, since when you're on
a bike even a Civic wins the "Right of Weight" rule.

Dave,
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.  I can't believe you went through all
that and your only complaint is aches and pains.  I'd expect you to be in
the hospital. Did you check in with a doctor to make sure you don't have any
hidden injuries?

David,

Hope you feel better soon.  It sucks to have been in an accident.  I'm glad
it wasn't worse.

Surely all the critters will help you cheer up.

Purring for an uncomplicated recovery.  Bikes are not the safest
transportation (as you well know).   Did you get checked out at a
hospital?

The Fearsome Foursome are purring their little kitten-hearts away, as are
the resident masters, for your aches to go away, and that the bike gets
fixed OK, and there are no legal repercussions (in the US, you could be
found guilty of failing to yield the right of way, and a hefty fine and/or
jail time levied against you).

Ouch.  Ouch ouch ouch ouch.

Usually its the car that doesn't see the bike that is most certainly there.

Angels must be watching over you, though not closely enough I must say.

Jake and Rosie will set to purring, once I can get their fuzzy butts back
inside.

Tomorrow the aches will be even worse, as all the nice hormones etc that
kick in when we are injured will have all worn off.  May your recovery be
all positive and quick and complete from then on.

Patty.  I'd guess you are still trying to decide whether to kill or hug him.
Hugs for now, plenty of time to kill him later.

Purrs for a quick recovery. I am glad you were able to walk away from
it. How did the bike fare? And what did Patty have to say? Remember to
put a purring cat on each aching spot for ultrasound therapy. And
doggy drool helps bruises and road rash.

Thanks, guys and gals, for your concern. The EMT's on the scene asked me
if I needed to go to the hospital, but my heart didn't even react to the
stress and none of my injuries seemed very important, so I waited a few
minutes for my nerves to calm down, got back on my bike, and drove home.
I realize now I was in a mild state of shock, but it passed. Somebody at
the scene called the cops, but they said they didn't have an officer to
respond for a while, for us just to exchange information and go on our
ways. At least so far I haven't gotten a ticket.

Yikes!  {{{{Dave}}}}  Purrs that your injuries heal quickly.  Perhaps
a doctor's visit is in order?

My head went clean through his passenger-side window. Lucky I was
wearing a helmet, but it did my neck no good whatsoever. Then the 735

What a scary experience!  I hope that you'll heal up from all your
bumps.  You're sort of immortal, but you shouldn't push it.  We've
lost enough people here, furred and unfurred in car accidents.
