Barn kittens found

Thursday, my daughter, Christine, found five tuxedo kittens in the weeds
next to her barn.  She moved them, all hissing and spitting, into the barn,
put them in a box, and went to buy some kitten food.  When she got back the
barn, she found that some of the kittens had climbed out of the box.  One
would not come out from behind a bale of hay, but the other four came out
and ate the food. One was especially friendly and purred when offered food
while being held.
Yesterday morning, before work, she checked on them, and they were all
there.  Two were waiting by the door.  She fed the kittens and went to work.
She debated bringing them all into the house, but mom cat was hanging out
nearby, so Christine decided to leave the kittens in the barn so they would
be sure to be fed during the day.
Yesterday, my daughter sent out emails to see if anybody would like a
kitten.  She called me last night to say that a co-worker had a trap that
could be used for the mother cat and that it looked like she had found homes
for all of the kittens. She fed them again last night and saw mom cat
leaving the barn.
This morning, she discovered the mother cat had moved all but one of the
babies. (sigh)
So, Christine brought the kitten into the house.  Already she has him tamed
and he has used the litter box. She says he loves to have his tummy tickled.
Now the problem remains to find the other kittens before they get too wild
and to trap and probably release the mother cat back to the barn.
Christine will continue to put food in the barn.  She will borrow the
co-workers trap and put the food in, but not set it, because she doesn't
want to trap the mother until she can account for the babies.  I suggested
that she might be able to get a kitten trap and set it for the kittens.
Anyway, any spare purrs, prayers, and/or ideas would be appreciated.
A photo of the kittens is at:

I apologize for the problem viewing the photo on the links I gave. I don't
know why it isn't working.
For those who have access, I have posted it on RPCA_Pictures in Yahoo. It is
in the Annie's photos album. The photo is called Barn Kittens.
I think it's pretty amazing that my daughter managed to get five wild little
kittens to all sit still long enough to get them all in a single photo.

Could you post the full URL of this (again)? For some reason I don't have
it bookmarked.

Go to http://tinyurl.com/
I'm not sure of the mechanics but it's easy to use. Basically, all you
need to do is cut and paste a long link into a box on the site, and it
turns it into a much shorter link. No charge, and according to the
site no expiration date. I think it's a great service, especially for
those using older software who can't just click on a link in a
message. Also great for those long Yahoo url's.

You would have to go to Yahoo.com and sign in to RPCA_Pictures. The photo is
called Barn Kittens and is in Annie's photos album.  A lot of other RPCA
posters have albums there, so you might be there a while.  Maybe we should
put a PW (photo warning) on messages sending people there. (grin)
When you see these kittens, you'll feel like you're seeing quadruple plus
one.

Annie, I tried to see the pics, but don't have a member ID ?
Anyway, purrs for the babies. Tuxedos are my favorites. I bet they're cute
little buggers with their little white feet. It's so great that they already
have people wanting to adopt them.

They are just so darn cute!!!  If they had a tiny white spot and white
cheeks, they'd look like Jim's cat, Honor.  She's just a tiny thing, but
is about as hyperactive as a cat can get.  Jim's mom plays the
piano/organ for their church.  Honor plays the organ at their apartment.
 Jim's mom is charmed.

Thank you for the purrs.
The kittens are four nearly identical and a fifth one without the little
white stripe on the face.
I'm sorry the links didn't work.  Do you have access to RPCA_Pictures on
Yahoo?  I put the photo in Annie's photos album.  It is called Barn Kittens.

It's great that your daughter already has homes lined up for them.
Many purrs coming for the babies, and for mama to let herself be
caught and spayed. My plan when I had Rocky neutered was to give him
to a friend to keep as a barn cat. Somehow he ended up staying here
;-)

Steve,
Thank you for the purrs.  I've enjoyed reading about your adventures with
Rocky, most recently the litter box story.

I'm sorry that the links didn't work.  I have used HP Photo before, and I
guess they must have made some changes that affect access.
Anyway, if you are interested, you can find the photo at the Yahoo group
site RPCA_Pictures in the folder called Annie's Photos.  The picture is
called Barn Kittens.  (Really creative titles, huh?)

Annie,

Sorry I cannot give any suggestions on catching kitties w/out mom.  But a
very good way to entice them is with something "stinky" such as tuna or
sardines (not my idea of enticing but I'm not a feline).

That is great she found homes for them already!  Kudos to her...how badly
did she want to keep one for herself?  Purrs and best of luck in getting
remaining kitties and mama so they can all enjoy having their own slaves. :)
