Cats training their hoomin

dirtylitterboxofferingstospammers - 29 May 2004 18:51 GMT But not how you'd expect ;-)
Nathan has his bike hooked up to a turbo trainer, and he's doing a heavy hour-long session of interval training on it (the sweat is pouring off him...). Sat on the ground in front of him are three felines... watching intently.
Now it could be "He's finally flipped, I tell you" feline communing. But I'd like to think they are acting as a conduit from the Mothership - beaming down extra energy to their hoomin kitten ;-)

Just don't tell him you'll post the funniest ones before they're deleted. ;-)

PS: I sent the Vernon back that you had shipped. My current hoomin tom turned agressive and started spraying.

badwilson - 30 May 2004 03:05 GMT That's what I need to get, one of those turbo trainers. That way I'd actually ride my bike at this time of the year. It's way too hot out and my bike is just sitting around in the laundry room :-( Vino doesn't get my daily training sessions on my elliptical trainer either. He usually gives me a long, hard stare and then settles on the couch for a thorough wash. I'm guessing he feels dirty just looking at me getting all sweaty! -- Britta Sandpaper kisses, a cuddle and a purr. I have an alarm clock that's covered in fur! Then, with the aid of a couple of strategically placed fans, it would be great! That's what I do with my elliptical. It's in front of the TV, and I crank the aircon and place the fans. It just would be nice to have some variety. -- Britta Sandpaper kisses, a cuddle and a purr. I have an alarm clock that's covered in fur! Sounds like what I used to do before I retired from the Army. Had stations set up around a spare bedroom where the weights/exercise stuff was set up, each with their own dedicated fans. Would have been easier if I could have made it to the unit physical training, but I was a staff puke who was usually already/still stuck in the office while the unit was out keeping in shape.
Probably should have kept in shape when I retired (says the fat guy sitting here typing away). ;-(

But how much more difficult it must be without an audience of kitties staring at one! They love exercise-- they can watch it all day. ;)

Vino loves to torture me by looking ultra-comfy while I'm sweating away. When I lift weights, he likes to meatloaf upon my chest to distract me from what I'm doing. It's so sweet though, I just pet him between sets :-) -- Britta Sandpaper kisses, a cuddle and a purr. I have an alarm clock that's covered in fur! God knows why, he's *NEVER* on the floor. ;) It makes me nervous to be swinging the weights around when he pokes his little head into everything, though. He enjoys it when I do yoga, too. He likes to demonstrate how he is much, much more flexible than I will ever be, without ever practicing.

I try to be extra careful though and he does keep away from me when there's weights swinging around.

Yeah, when we decided to get in shape, we set up a weight room upstairs in the spare bedroom and got an elliptical which we put in the living room. It's great, very handy and I never have an excuse not to work out. The spare bedroom is quite small so it cools down really fast once I turn the air on...and I have a fan in there too. There is a gym at a nearby hotel, but it doesn't have that much good stuff and the room is huge and they never turn on the aircon until I get there. So it's awfully hot for the first hour! I only go there occasionally to run on the treadmill, I prefer my own free weights at home anyway.

Just put the bike in a high gear and spin the pedals. Now I have to use a cane :-( Exercising in front of an audience of cats can either give you a boost or can bring you down -- there's no middle ground, for me anyway. They seem to understand so much, but it's on a very visceral level that humans approach rarely -- we're too busy thinking.
