Okay, I booked a trip to meet my old new love again. Will be gone 6/3 -
6/8. One of those "last minute deals" actually to Overland Park. Which is
to say, might as well be Kansas City, Missouri. Got a good deal; direct
flight and 5 nights at the Radisson in Overland Park. Travelocity keeps
talking about BBQ. Okay, I get to compare Kansas City BBQ with Memphis BBQ.
Jazz to 'da Blues. I'd better pack a funky cool dress and some dance shoes
;)
Once again I will have to board my sweet Persia - she's going to get really
tired of this long distance romance thing. But I am really looking forward
to this trip!

Congrats!! :-) Persia will get over it. In fact she may well be the
one urging you two to tie the knot, so that she gets two servants
instead of just one.

Lots of best wishes for both of you to enjoy your reunion and for Persia to
not miss you too much while you're gone,

Good luck on the trip. Depending on the BBQ you like, try Gates (smoky,
spicy), KC Masterpiece (sweet), Arthur Bryants (smoky, spicy).
For Blues music on the way to Overland Park from the Kansas City airport
stop at Weston on the 5th and enjoy the music fest. A couple of the stages
are underground converted from the storage area for wine and beer before
prohibition. http://www.westonirish.com/wmf_2004.shtml lists the
performers. Also in Weston is a nice winery for some bubbly, that you can
try before you buy.
Would suggest you go to the Grand Emporium, but they are closed for a couple
of weeks. The owner sold it. (Hubby just told me.) Another site for good
music is http://www.hurricanekc.com/; and the Beaumont Club.
Enjoy your trip here in KC.

I prefer the smoky/spicy - never did care much for the sweet stuff. I also
prefer ribs over pulled pork - can't tell you how tired I got of that on my
last job. It was always Corky's. Corky's ain't all that, folks. Give me
Rendezvous ribs any day!

Thank you so much for the suggestions! We are very excited. I am arriving
a few days before he has to set up for the art show so we'll have some time
to do things before he has to 'work' during the day.
No one should worry about me when he's working - I can waste (NOTE: that's
the correct word) my days away with a good book or in the hotel business
center checking email and rpca via Google! ;)
