If you folks are interested, I finally have web pages set up talking
about my work with the Scottish wildcat. The site belongs to a friend of
mine, and is really cool too.

There's also a rather swanky up-to-date pic of me and his Royal Feline
Lordship Tiger, taken about 3 weeks ago.

The URL is http://www.scottishwildcats.co.uk and if you go to "wildcat
folk" and click on Helen Miles on the LHS, there I am! Let me know what
ya think!

Thanks Lydia - it'll probably be sometime in the Autumn, in between
Canada and Hong Kong!

My favorite part of the whole website:
"Wildcat faeces was sought after as a cure for baldness in the middle
ages."

LO Helen

Fascinating bio, you've managed to do most of the things I always
wanted to do but allowed the tidal flow of life to distract me from.
Who's the babe you're holding - he's the image of my Kensey (RB) whom
I'm holding in similar fashion in a pic in the "owners past & present"
album at the URL below.

Greetings from Cornwall

Hi Gordon.

The "Babe" I'm holding, is the infamous "His Royal Feline Lordship
Tiger".

He's been all over the world with his side-kick Pandora, and eventually
got back to the UK on the pet passport scheme in Jan after a journey of
about 30,000 miles on all forms of transport!

LO again Helen

How did HRFL Tiger get on in the bad ol' days of Quarantine (or did
you, he & Pandora miss out the UK in your travels for a while)?

I couldn't find/make the time for nearly full-time volunteer work with
my local Cats Protection, all that's on offer, but as if 3 owners
wasn't enough I'm now on the list for fostering/socialising of some of
this year's wave of kittens.

The hardest part will (of course) be handing them back. Any tips,
anyone?

Purrs, & special regards to the HRFLness.

They got to stay with my folks in Washington DC. I have a third cat,
Robbie, who also travelled with us but was hijacked by my father so
stayed in the USA.

They've been about a bit, my cats. I worked out where they had lived for
any period of time the other day....

London,
Edinburgh,
Cardiff (where they are now)
Houston, USA
Dallas, USA
Washinton DC, USA
Belize, Central America.

And in three years time, it'll be back over the pond to Toronto. :o)

And that doesn't include all the normal travelling they do back and fore
between Cradiff and Edinburgh!

Helen,
This site is so interesting!  I enjoyed reading about you and your work and
especially liked seeing the photos of the cats and reading about their
behavior and physical characteristics. I hope you are able to continue what
you are doing.
