TBird - 25 May 2004 21:01 GMT Both of my cats are neutered/spayed. They came to me that way.
But, the other day, as Sweetie lay quietly snoozing on my bed, Joe creeped over, bit the back of her neck to hold her down, positioned himself gently in a straddle over her as she growled indignantly, and promptly attempted to make kittens.
Sweetie did NOT appreciate the gesture.
She told him so, as she slashed her way free.
TBird <----- oh Joe, them cotton balls do not function.....the vet told me so

It's a dominance thing. One of our boys Issa does it to his brother Basho. He does not appreciate it either... :)

I'm sure those blankets fear him so much they are just doing their very best to be *very* quiet and *very* still, but quite obviously, Berfert sees through their charade and puts those uppity blankets straight back in their place :-)

That's as likely as PC giving up on his plan (he thinks I don't know about it) to smuggle himself on our trip next month.

Internet will actually tolerate it for awhile, but then gets tired of it.

The weird thing is, Basho complains loudly about it, but I've seen him present his butt to his brother... Maybe he likes it just a little bit? ;-)

I saw a similar thing, but in reverse, when one of my very young female cats went into heat for the first time. (This was years ago, when vets would say you should wait for the first heat before spaying.) My roommate had a neutered male. The girl kitty would roll around in front of him, making quite a display. Finally, he would halfheartedly mount her, but then he'd get confused and stop off, and look up at my roommate (or at me) as though for further instructions. Sorry, guy - not my department! :)

Sorry, guy - not my department! :) Woman I used to work with had a female Siamese and a male dachshund. When the cat came in heat, the dog would try to help her out. (When the cat became pregnant - it was a thorughbred, they'd intended to breed her - there were a lot of jokes going around about whether she'd have kittens or puppies.)

Whoa. That's still illegal in several states. ;)

Sorry, guy - not my department! :) When Mischief first showed up at my door, she would be rolling on the ground, yowling. I thought that perhaps I had let in a stray female that was in heat. She would be growling at Imp, but then go back to him and start rolling and yowling again. Imp would come closer to investigate and then get hissed and swiped at. So Imp did what any male could do when there's a really pissed off female in the house.
He hid under the bed.
I took mischief to a spay/neuter clinic and they found a scar after shaivng her. She was really ticked off at me after that. "They took my BELLY FUR!!"
But I still won't forget the look Imp gave her during the whole incident, "Um, you want me to do WHAT?"

The shelter didn't seem to know she was spayed when I adopted her, and she would call and roll. So off to the vet she went, and came back like your little girl, shaved and PO'ed.
