I've been watching the US Open on TV these last couple of weeks. Some
matches I've really gotten into, going as far as yelling at the TV and
cheering, etc.
Vino is not happy about this development. He thinks I'm talking to
somebody other than him, which is not allowed. He doesn't even like
it if Dennis and I talk to each other.
He showed his displeasure by crouching next to the couch and
periodically jumping up and "tagging" me on the face whenever I'd
vocalize. Hmmph...the nerve! ;-)
Good thing tennis is over until early next year. I'll try to keep
quiet for a while.

We've enjoyed many matches too. I was cheering for Pierce on the women's
side and Ginepri on the men's side. I got really annoyed by Sharapova's
noises! I thought Ginepri did awesome against Agassi, did you see that
game? He's a total cutie too! :)

Hehehehehe... he's such a momma's boy!

Heh, I always cheer for Kim Clijsters, she's my fave female tennis
player right now and she's a sweetheart too.
I had to root for Andre, somewhat for old times' sake but also because
he's married to Steffi, my biggest tennis idol of allllllll
tiiiiiimmmmmeeeee! <sigh>
But you're right, Ginepri is a cutie and I wouldn't mind seeing more
of him in the future. This is always the worst time of the year,
months' long tennis drought :-( I don't watch any of the small
tournaments.

Oh how funny. My nephew (2 years old) is getting like that with his
mother. He gets in between his mother and father (my brother), and
tells him 'Go take a shower." :P

Captain and Stanley can empathize. I'm an enthusiastic hockey fan, but due
to some labor issues in pro hockey this season, the first time that Captain
and Stanley were on hand while I watched a live hockey game on TV was in
June. They both earned what my fellow cat-meowmy/hockey fan dubbed "Hockey
Wings" that night. My team won in overtime, and both Mark and I let out a
whoop that must have been audible several blocks away. Captain and Stanley
are unaccustomed to the sound of even a slightly-raised voice (unless said
voice is telling them to stop misbehaving).
It never ceases to amaze me how high a soundly-sleeping cat can jump,
straight up, on hearing a sudden loud noise. ;o) Poor cats. Little do they
know, the hockey season's going to start ON TIME this year, in October.
They'll eventually get acclimated to the sound of me hollering at the TV,
I'm sure. ;o)

Sounds like my cats reaction to my watching Afleet Alex or Megahertz
run. Grant used to look at me like I was from another planet. Sugar
generally just clears the room when I start whooping.

My husband's usually the one yelling at the tv- friday night football, the
ashes, soccer, whatever-sports nut. Jasmine doesn't care, as long as I'm not
watching. She tolerates the computer, as long as she can supervise from my
lap, but hates me reading or writing-she'll come and sit on top of the page
I'm reading/writing on, flop down, and purr with that satisfied, slanty eyed
look of a spoilt cat!!

When my sister comes to watch a baseball game with Dad, Heidi is
in the habit of settling in next to her on the couch and soaking
up some hands-on. All well and good if the game is uneventful,
but Sis is not above jumping and yelling when something happens.
Heidi has always believed that anything worth reacting to is
worth over-reacting to, so for a while we got some spectacular
double eruptions. Lately, I think Heidi has decided it just
isn't worth it anymore; she still startles, but doesn't jump in
the air and run for the cellar.
