Hi -    My son, Chris, and I are heading for Utah tomorrow where we're
scheduled for ten days of volunteer work at Best Friends Animal
Sanctuary.  Since  we're cat people, and they have about 600 cats
there, naturally we'll be working with the kitties, but we also plan
to look in on the bunnies, doggies, horses, et al.

Meanwhile, I'll send purrs to all who need them (and hoping none will
be needed!) and best wishes to everyone.  I read every word posted
here but trust there won't be more than a thousand messages to catch
up on when we return!!!

The only fly in the ointment is worrying about Hobo.  We were
committed to the trip and all details ready and confirmed many months
ago before we learned he is diabetic.   He'll be boarded at a great
place with condo-cages, a TLC room full of toys, climbing trees, a
picture window to peer out of, and a dedicated staff.  But I still
worry.

Take care, everybody!!!   Gotta go finish packing.

You and Chris are wonderful people! I'm sure you'll have a great time
working with all the kitties there.
Dont' worry too much about Hobo, I'm sure he's in good hands.

Cheers.

That sounds wonderful Jeanne. Purrs that you can enjoy yourself without
worrying too much about Hobo.

What a wonderful vacation!  Have a great, safe trip, and pet all the
kitties (or at least *some* of them!  lol!) for us.

I "sixth" the congratulations on the vacation.. it sounds like it will be a
lot of hard work, but a lot of fun!

Im also sure hobo will be fine, but on that off chance, I would leave word
with your vet that your boarding facility is authorized to bring him in if
needed and leave a credit card on file to pay for any expensences incurred
(if they require that)

What a wonderful vacation(?)! :) (The question mark is for the word
"vacation" - it sounds like you'll be working quite a bit.)

Please tell us about it when you get back. I've wanted to do this for
years, but have been reluctant to go alone, and don't have anyone to go
with. (Ahem, I *do* have friends! :) But they're either too poor, or
aren't into doing that for a vacation, or are married/partnered and
take all their trips with the spouse, or whatever - and now I don't have
the money, either.) So, I want to know all about it! Where you stay,
what you do during the day, and whether you visit other places while
you're there. (Utah looks like one of the most beautiful natural places
in the USA.)

ENJOY!!

Sounds like a great trip!  I hope you have fun, but how are you going to
stop yourself from bringing home a cute kitty or 2?
I'm sure Hobo will be ok at the place where he's boarded.  They will take
good care of him.

Congrats, good luck and have fun.  Don't worry about Hobo, I'm sure
they'll take good care of him.  I'm looking forward to your report about
your trip.  Where in Utah is the Sanctuary?
