Hey Ginger, quick question... How would one go about finding one's birth
chart if one has no blinking clue about astrology other than one's
birthsign?

Well, a chart can be done for you, by someone who practices
astrology, if they know date, time, and place of birth. Better
accuracy in each of these gives better accuracy in the chart.

Hi, Grace,
Well, you can do one of three things:
1. Hire a professional astrologer to do your chart for you. You need
to know the date, month, year, time and place of birth for it to be
accurate There are various ways of finding out birthtimes if it isn't
on your birth certificate (just ask if you need that info).
2. Go to a metaphysical bookstore, and find an ephemeris. You can
either buy it, or take a piece of paper and pen, look up your
birthdate, and write down the numbers and symbols you find. This will
only tell you where the planets were when you were born, and you'll
have to find a beginner's astrology book to tell you what the symbols
mean.
3. Go here: http://www.astro.com/
This will give you a free chart -- you'll still need to know all the
information in #1.
I, of course, would personally recommend #1 ;-)
Hope that helps!

There are any number of books on the subject that will give you a
general idea, without having someone actually cast your horoscope. I
have an old paperback "Astrology for Adults" by Joan Quigley, which
explains in simple terms all the factors other than your sun sign, what
they are supposed to mean, and how to determine them. (However, it was
copyright in 1969, but I'm sure there are more recent books of the same
sort.)
