Cat Forum / Cat Anecdotes / May 2004Fearsome Foursome Update (was Weeble's Mama)
They are still only licking the milk from the bottle, but one of them did pee in the litterbox last night. So far Meenie is the most dominant one (she's been purring for us all ready), Eenie second, Minie & Moe kinda stick together. Minie is smaller than the others, so I try to give her first dibs on the bottle, while trying to fend of Meenie.I discovered that they are doing much more than crawling, So their box is now on it's side, and they are frolicking around the (enclosed) front porch, climbing all over me & DH whenever we go out there (Weeble never really climbed on us - good thing too as those tiny claws are SHARP - and now there's FOUR kittens shredding me at once!), trying to pounce on one another & wrestling. I have seen them licking themselves & each other, so they are keeping clean, but I do help by washing their cute kitty faces with a damp kleenex every so often, and get rid of those nasty eye-crusties for them. I just wish that they would suckle on the bottle - they would get so much more that way, but they just lick at it, and if I try to get the nipple IN their mouth, they chew on it (Weeble would only do that when he was full and didn't want any more food). What good little kitties! I like "Minnie" better than Minie, because the name "Minie" doesn't mean much all by itself. And eventually, they will probably be separated. (Of course, the new human might want to rename her anyway.) How about "Mini"? :) Joyce wonderful news about the kitties suckling on the bottle and using the litter box. Awww. They just love their new foster mum. Are the other ones suckling now as well? Minnie is the only one that actually 'collapsed' the bottle (Weeble used to do that all the time), but the others have started alternating between sucking, biting it and licking it - it's kinda funny, sorta goes like this sucksucksuckbitebitebitelicklicklick <repeat until belly is full> and then a gurgly burp! They are eating a mush of canned Science Diet kitten food & baby food, with a little KMR mixed it to make it a bit runnier. And Meanie is a climber! Every time I go out there, I try to feed Minnie or Moe first, since they're smaller, but Meanie always climbs up my leg and tries to steal the bottle! And she's was the first one to purr!
