I'm sitting at the computer, and Buster is stretched out across my
lap. I've got the virus scanner running, so I don't have anything to
do but love a kitty.

As I skritch Buster's head, he rolls over onto his back.

I start singing, "You've got a tuuummy, you've got a tuuummy..." while
I also rub his tummy.

Buster gives me one of *those* looks, and proceeds to show me that I
have a tummy too, by kneading my oh too close tummy with his claws
out.

"Ouch! Ooch! Oh we boooth have <Ouch!> tuuuummies... <Ow!>"

Hugs and Purrs,
Mark, the pokeable

Most of mine won't accept tummy skritches; not sure why.  Perhaps
it offends the exaggerated sense of dignity they like to evince.

Makes me appreciate the things that mama cats have to go through
to raise a litter.  Little kitten claws are sharp.

Felix *loves* tummy rubs, and a cat friend of ours decided after I
gave her one that she enjoys them too. :-)

Yep. I have a frequent visitor to my patio, in the form of a young
male kitten [probable age 3 or 4 months, I'll try to get a picture].
He oscillates between "pet me pet me purr purr purr" to ferocious
attacks on my hand [his little teeth are sharp too!] and back again. I
keep trying :-) [last night when I went out to chat with him, he
started purring while I was talking to him outside petting range].

I'm not sure whether he has people or not. I only see him at night,
usually. He's definitely not feral [loves those ear rubs and back
scritches, and I even got a lick from him yesterday]. Sometimes, he's
very hungry, other times he'll politely nibble at the food I provide
but not show much interest in eating it.

Stinky has a magnificent white belly, which he enjoys displaying.
There's a favorite hassock that he likes to roll around on.  I call
out "Show me the belly!" and he flips on his back. ;)

When he is sufficently relaxed, he'll let me rub my face on his belly.
Dignity?  Who needs dignity? ;)

For my kitties, the showing of the tummy is the bait in the "Cat Hand
trap"

Mischief and Imp will let me scratch it for like a second before they
turn into all claws and scratch up my hand.  Ow!

Frank lets me do that, too. Sometimes. Other times, he will bury ten claws
in my scalp. Nikki lets me do it too, but she has this long-suffering look
when I bring my face too close to her. She doesn't like to be that close up
and personal. Tummy scritches she does enjoy.
