Not that any self-respecting cat *would* purr for any TED, but he's been
feeling ill for a long time, and just a couple weeks ago, they found a
potato-sized tumor in his colon.  It was cancerous.  They check his lymph
nodes and all seemed fine, but he has to go through chemo anyway as a
just-in-case.

The vet clinic he runs (he actually *owns* it) is small, and he is the only
actual vet there, with his wife as the main vet-tech and a couple of other
techs.  Since he's been out, there have been a couple of other vets rotating
through, who are semi-retired (they don't actually practice anymore, but
have kept their licenses up to date so they can if they want to, like now).

I offered any kind of help she may need to Lynn (his wife), even if it's
taking a list to the grocery and loading up the SUV with a couple weeks
worth of food or coming in to the clinic on a weekend and feeding the
resident cats and any patients staying (please leave full instructions so I
don't give one the wrong food).  His wife is getting stressed, what with
handling the business & scheduling the temp-vets, doing her horse training
(most of her clients for that are very understanding), shuttling her DH to
doctor appointments.  She told me that she's resorting to 'comfort food' -
mainly ships & salsa, which doesn't help settle her stomach very much at
all.

Please purr (or if the kitties refuse, pray) for Micheal to get better, as
we really like taking our pets to him - he cares about their welfare, and
their prices are about average for this area (and they are less than a 5
minute drive from the house, unless you get caught in rush-hour traffic).

If anyone wants their snail mail address to send a get-well or cheer-up
card, please email me privately and I will give it.

Here's hoping he has a full and swift recovery.

Hey, when one finds a vet that the owners don't mind seeing, all the
cats will purr (they know what it's like to see a "meanie").

Offerings and songs as well.  Positive energy heading your way.

Oh, I'm so sorry, MMJ.  Here's hoping that your vet gets better soon!  I
hate to hear things like this.

I think some times the cats know TED is going to make them feel better.
Purrs and prayers on the way for your vet and his family.

Many purrayers for the poor guy... we need all the good TEDs we can
get!

I put this up to the owners and they say that they'll purr for TED because
he takes such good care of the MMJ kitties.  They are also purring for all
of the Katrina cats, d-things, and other animals.  The house sounds like a
bunch of chainsaws revving up.  We're also thinking healing thoughts for TED
as well as for all the victims from Katrina.  Your offer of helping out is
excellent, even if she doesn't take you up on it.  I have finally realized
that there is a good reason for all those casseroles for those dealing with
death or illness.  I now wish we'd taken up all those offers of help when
Rob was so ill.  We could have used them.

Lots and lots of purrs on the way.

It is not necessarily a death sentence.  You might like to tell him that my
friend's father was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 1968, had a colostomy and
is still going strong at 92.

Nox, Smokey and Tyche are purring.

Kumani will only purr if your TED promises to never, ever come near her
with a thermometer.

And I am offering bright blessings for your TED.

Prayers on the way from here.  Smokey sends purrs, too (He loves his vet).
Mistletoe abstains (she's "askeert" of him - same vet).

Prayers and purrs are en route. So far, Captain and Stanley have
experienced the TED's office as a place where there are more people to pay
attention to them and tell them how cute they are. :o) There's no such
thing as too much of THAT sort of treatment, so they liked visiting TED.

May your TED make a speedy, complete recovery, and be back to his regular
schedule in no time flat.

Done!  A good vet is worth his weight in...fur.  Going through chemo
they may both be able to use an extra hand, even if Mrs. TED doesn't
take you up on it now.

Cheers,
Pat

We will be purring. Sounds like a great vet.
