I received this from my mom today. I thought it was cute:

It really poured last night, and crashed and cracked for a while.Custer and
up
had Tornado warnings.
The cats stayed with me. If I went in another room, they tagged right along.

Awwwww :)

We had huge storms last night.  Stinky slept through a lot of it, but
when he woke up and could hear it, he beat it for the basement.  He
always goes to the basement in a thunderstorm-- he seems to think he
has to get down to get away from it, but it doesn't exactly work that
way. ;)

That's great that they followed her. I wonder how I'd get all three of
mine downstairs, though Bonnie is getting better about following me
around the house so as long as she isn't totally freaked, she'd probably
follow me. Shadow and Shamrock can be grabbed.

My pair go into hiding before I can even hear the storm coming.  Indeed my
best clue that something is coming is watching them move about and keep
suddenly staring toward the outside wall.  There is no way I see them during
a thunderstorm except to see them move on shortened legs with bellies barely
off the floor as they move from place to place trying to find a spot that
the thunder can't get to.

If she can't get into a closet, she huddles against my feet.  TuTu is
terrified of wind and thunder.MLB

Thunderstorms are very rare here, but it's a windy area. Felix does
NOT approve of wind faster than about 15mph. He'll lay his ears back,
cower down, and give me a very pleading "Mom, PLEASE fix this!" look.

Interesting name.  Where would it have come from?

That is sweet. Are they protecting her or are they wanting her to
protect them from the storm?

We just had a heck of a storm with lots of rain and hail. Some of the
hail was golf ball size and some of it was shaped like 3 inch disks
witha round core! The hail was real hard and made a lot of noise
coming down. Jeff was worried about the windows. The cats were
burrowed into the covers of my bed.Sheba has been afraid of hailstorms
for years. She was once caught out in a bad hail storm, racing to the
house, dodging the stones.
