O J - 09 May 2004 19:40 GMT Hi All,
Perhaps most of you have this program, but if not, you can get an animated cat for your Windows desktop by downloading it from alt.binaries.pictures.animals. The note I attached to the file is as follows:

I've had Felix on my computer at work for several years now. The second best thing to having a real cat at the office.

O J - 10 May 2004 11:59 GMT >> Hi All, >> [quoted text clipped - 6 lines] > >Marina, Frank and Nikki It *is* the second best thing to having a real cat at work, isn't it. Before I retired, half my office had it on their computer at work thanks to me. Almost everyone who saw it wanted it and I'd e-mail it to them as an attachment.
We owe our British friends a debt of gratitude for coming up with this one. It was done to promote the "Felix" brand of cat food. My sister, who lives in Chelmsford, Essex feeds it to her two cats. We don't get it here in Leftpondia though.
By the way, anyone who's news server doesn't get binary groups can drop me and e-mail and I'll send you a copy.

Dakota could have doubled for him a few years ago - but now he's getting a bit too *rounded*! (must switch to the "light" cat food soon - but how to keep Apache's weight UP while keeping Dakota's DOWN is difficult)

Hopitus2 - 10 May 2004 18:44 GMT Ditto the Hopitus! My Felix is cute, active, but silent!

I've had Felix for a couple of years, and he's silent, also. Maybe those of us who have older versions should download the program again.

Yeah, when I went to the site, Felix meowed. First he was behind a door, so his meow was quiet. When I clicked on the door, it opened and he came through it, meowing much louder. Got Smudge's ears to start swiveling.
I got the Felix II program and he is silent. But he has some new activities: knocking over a milk bottle and lapping the milk, stepping into a cabinet, and watching tv.

The picture of Felix with a box of kittens is very cute, but where's the mama?

There used to be (the version I downloaded had) a kitten add on to the Felix. Little kitten version of Felix would follow him around on screen. didn't actually do much of his own, just follow big Felix and watch him.

>Jette Goldie Yes, there is a kitten in Felix2. There are several more add-on modules besides the kitten one. As Helen pointed out, the URL for the Felix web site is:
http://www.catslikefelix.co.uk
It doesn't pop up on a search as easily as one would think, but by all means go to the web site and download Felix2. It's a lot of fun.
