It's been 5 days of the boys being on medication, and of not allowing Fizz
access to any non-prescription cat food. Pippin is a bear to pill, and too
smart to fall for the pill hidden in the food trick. Fizz is easier to
pill, and has, at least this morning, eaten a pill hidden in a piece of
chicken.
The amitriptyline makes Fizz sleepy, so he's been napping a lot, but
fighting a lot less with Pippin. I've only witnessed one less-aggressive
bopping. Pippin, on buspar, is turning into an attention slut. I can barely
get work done on my computer with him crawling in and out of my lap,
lounging on my papers and books. He even jumped up into my lap while I was
spoon-feeding the baby yesterday, much to her delight. Fortunately, Pippin
avoided being coated in pear-raspberry goo, and the goo stayed cat-hair
free.
DH and I have agreed to try everything we can to avoid having to re-home
Fizz.
We never did figure out the source of the blood.

Glad to hear things have quieted down, Caroline. We are keeping our fingers
crossed.

Hang in there, Caroline -- sounds like some improvement. A cat behaviorist
might be able to give you some good info also. We also don't have the most
harmonius household but I'm going to make it work somehow because at least
two of the "problem furchildren" would be next to impossible to rehome
(Midnight & Tucker). Purrs for things to work out well for your kits.

A nice, fairly quiet household must be balm to you. Are the meds going
to be long-term or for a specific time period?
Purrrs for continued peace,
