Nikki saw TED

I took Nikki to see TED today, because she has been wheezing pretty loudly,
i.e. her asthma is acting up. TED gave us a course of cortisone tablets. She
also checked Nikki's liver and kidney function and blood glucose, and was
amazed at the results. She said that everything was perfect, much better
than in most cats Nikki's age! (She's 15.) I'm so happy for my little girl.
Or should I say little old lady. *Healthy* little old lady. Except for the
asthma and hyperthyroidism, of course. But those are treatable.Yay, I must
be doing something right!

Glad she's OK.  As I've mentioned, Stinky is 13, and I want every
minute with him we have coming.

Single-mindedness is all very well in cows or baboons; in an animal
claiming to belong to the same species as Shakespeare it is simply disgraceful.

I agree! My Psycho kitty is 13 too. We've been through a lot together
over the years.

I'm pleased that all is well and send hopes that Nikki will remain in
good health for a very very long time.

That is great, Marina!  Go, Nikki!  My Sabra is 14-15, and asthmatic,
and the vet last time said he is very impressed by how well he is
doing, too.  Ain't it great?  :-)

It's especially great with these elderly ones. Nikki has been throwing up
quite often lately, and I was worried she might be going into kidney
failure, but nothing of the sort!

Nikki has such a sweet round little fuzzy face. I'm so glad she's a healthy
old lady.

Any possibility that she might be getting constipated?  When my Frodo got
about Nikki's age he started having constipation problems and he would
frequently throw up after a visit to the litterbox.

That's a thought. Though she doesn't throw up just after eating. This
morning I awoke at 4.30. to Nikki hurking. TED gave me Antepsin to give her
for two weeks, and we will see if that helps. Poor Nikki, she was such a
good girl at TED's, and what does she get for it? A lot of torture... err,
medication.

Concatulations!  Nikki doesn't seem to look or act very old.  She'll
always be a little girl!
