Scroll down, and see the crowd on top of the fridge.

I think this is my favorite kitten picture of all time.  Take a look
around this site, too, it's a fantastic record of raising kittens.

Single-mindedness is all very well in cows or baboons; in an animal
claiming to belong to the same species as Shakespeare it is simply disgraceful.

That's hilarious. They look like a bunch of alien tulips.

That *is* cute.  Eight siamese kittens on top of the refrigerator is
definitely cute!

I read that there were originally nine in the litter, one did not
survive.  What I thought was really hilarious (and potentially
maddening) was how so much of the time they all acted together, in a
little swarm.  There is even a picture on the website of them all
going to the litterbox together.

I'm terrified of Siamese cats.  One did a good job of nearly killing my step
dad.  It lept up as he was opening the cat food, grabbed my Dad's arm with
*all* it's claws, and slid down to his wrist before he could shake it off.
It was the infection that sent him to the emergency room.

That cat was totally psycho.  It had attacked a passer by from my mothers
arms before they ever brough it home to me.  (Why did they bring it home???)
Just reached out from my Mom's arms, and buried a paw full of claws into
some poor guys forehead.

He was psycho enough that I just stay away from all Siamese now.

TBird <--- he sure was pretty though... from a distance

Truly they are not all like that. Honest. Not even some of them. just a very
few.

Your parents were wonderful to take in such a psychotic and
unadoptable little thing.  At least you didn't end up terrified of all
cats!  I guess I can understand now why some people actually do have a
phobia of cats.

Oh yeah....
If you could have seen my Dad... I came up from playing outside, and there
he was with a huge bowl of hot bloody water, and a hot bloody towel wrapped
around one arm.... in the other hand, a hammer, should that cat come
anywhere near him again.

I already had a cat at that point, my beloved Jon-Jon, New York City tom cat
from a pet store, declawed, but not lacking for dignity.  I think he weighed
in at about 13 lbs.  He was a guard cat, and a total love, and I swear he
could read.  (I wrote "I love Jon-Jon" on my chalk board, and he started
purring.) Jonnee would never think of hurting a person as long as no one
tried to hurt me.

Aside from that Siamese, I've been blessed with some truly wonderful cats
over the years.

Not a medical professional, was he? Jeez, no wonder it got so bloody.
Heat makes you bleed!

I thought he was the one who adopted the cat in the first place...

Yes - but it also draws out the potential infection from dirty claws.

He was... he just had some serious second thoughts about the cat once it
tried to rip his arm off....

TBird <----- gimme a tabby any day of the week....

Well, now you know the truth... I'm not a medical professional, either. :)

I'm with you on that!
