Pouring down rain...

Luckily, no thunder so Persia isn't hiding.  But she's sitting in front of
the open window here in the front room, watching the rain fall.  Sometimes I
catch her nodding her head like she's tracking individual drops from up
above!

It is a mess outside; mud and puddles and mud-puddles everywhere.  So much
for Beltane bonfires or even cooking out on the grill.  And no kitty-walk
enclosure for Persia today :(

We had our daily downpour here too....looks like spring has indeed sprung
all over.

I was going to smudge with woodruff (what they make may wine out of) and
a couple other pagan herbs today.

*hmphff*

Ended up with my house smelling like a gigantic bong.
(worked in a bar, smelled pot heads for six months, will remember that
smell till the day I die.. ugh)

It's raining here too.  And my husband is gone again. No fires, no
beltane fertility orgyfest either. *grin*

Well, Gracie, "orgyfest" sounds fun....but what or who were you going to
"smudge": your DH or the cats or your surroundings? Suggestion: make the
wine out of the woodruff and drink it (doesn't sound like it smells good;
maybe it tastes better in wine) while you await DH's return for orgyfest. Do
you like your new house? Haven't heard anything about it lately.

Surroundings ;).

The house... Bah!!! I've tuned that little adventure out of mind for a
while for the sake of my sanity.

Let's see.. We have no brick layers because we can't get the freaking
thugs to come out.  The bricks have been sitting here a month and nada..
not a word and our contractor just shrugs.  *grrrrrrrrrr*

We bought flooring. We're actually going to be able to floor the living
room. We thought we'd have to hold off on that for a few months and just
move in on rugged concrete. Expenses kinda was running tight and all.
But we found some great  ceramic tile and because we're doing such a
huge job, kitchen bathrooms, living room, foyer and pantry, he's going
to cut us a deal on the labor. So it actually was good, turned out
cheaper than I expected.

I hired our next door neighbor (he does this for a living) to paint the
house and stain the cabinets.  It just turned into too big of a headache
for me.

Our sheetrock guy skipped out without finishing the job.

I don't have bricks... have I mentioned that???

My light fixtures, the generator (we have a monster generator, backs up
nearly the whole doggone house, more on that later), appliances and
other things are in.

We live in an area that loses its electricity on a regular  basis. And
if it's a hurricane that blew through or a severe ice storm (one of
which happens just about every two to three years), our area is one of
the dead last to have electricity back, four days is typically the
earliest if it's a big one.

It's moving along, maybe move in the first of June. We'll definitely be
in by July 1.

How clever of you all to install an emergency generator for those
electricity-less times we homeowners have from time to time, Gracie.
