Victor Martinez - 30 Apr 2004 14:02 GMT Today's Pearls before swine (it's a newspaper comic) is very funny, but you need to read the whole week to get the idea. Here are the links in order:

Single-mindedness is all very well in cows or baboons; in an animal claiming to belong to the same species as Shakespeare it is simply disgraceful. (Aldous Huxley)
Karen - 30 Apr 2004 17:07 GMT LOL!! I thought, "I'll never get this. I don't know these characters." Oh man, how cute. A guest appearance.

You know, when they mentioned Farley on the 4/29 one, I thought, "What, did something happen to Farley??" Then, I realized that I haven't read FBOFW since high school, and everyone grows older in that strip, so it would make sense that he went to RB since then.

Farley went to the Bridge years ago [getting April out of a near-drowning in the process]. His son, Edgar, is the current family dog [there's also the grandfather's dog, Dixie, and April's pet rabbit, whose name I can't remember right now].

I *think* the rabbit died and they got another one. IIRC, it got the same name as its predecessor. Or something like that. It was a while ago though, so my memory might be betraying me. Maybe he was just very sick?

Butterscotch Named for her color, Butterscotch is the second house rabbit the Pattersons have owned. When the kids at school learned that April's pet had died, they let her know that a schoolmate was looking for someone to take his rabbit! April was happy to adopt an unwanted bunny and brought her home. More delicate than her predecessor, Butterscotch is still full of mischief and has her own bad habits - one of which is emptying her cage of all wood chips - onto the floor! Being the new pet on the block, Butterscotch is still learning the rules. She doesn't keep the dogs on their toes as much as Mr. B did but she tries!

I think the rabbit was sick, but I don't remember for sure. Wonder if anyone else does?

Hopitus2 - 03 May 2004 02:09 GMT The first rabbit, Mr. B., was just old! We were told years ago that rabbits live less years than cats do. Mr. B. died in April's company, and was buried in some sentimental spot in their yard. New rabbit is named Butterscotch and keeps a much lower profile than her predecessor.

When I read Farley's death (years ago), I was already feeling lousy that day, so that turned on the waterworks. I just started crying, and couldn't stop.
