ok, so i get a call from a friend as i alwasy seem to do when there is a
stray cat around their house, they think cause i volunteer for PAWS that i
can take in any cat out there. well my friend finds this cat, she is female
orange declawed cat, so stupid me, i go look at the cat BIG mistake.
well she is sweet, scared and timid, and skin and bones,
my friend said that she drank a whole container of water when she got there,
and ate like crazy.
well they promised i would not take it to the shelter cause they euthanise
there and begged me to take it inot out rescue program, well i dont have the
authority to take them in , but i take this cat anyway, who wouldnt have???
so i get her home and look at her teeth, ugh.. she needs a dental BAD!
so i take her to get her first shots and the doc says i can get a dental
with blood work for 200 , i kinda figured it wold be that much. or i can
feed her hills t/d and brush her teeth cause the tarter is not that stuck on
.
paws wont take her so here is my dillema.
i can take her to this other lady that rescues cats taht we often work with
, she already agreed to take her, but i have no say in who she goes with.
or i can keep her
i already have 2 cats and cant foster anymore cause i have cats that have
had calici. but with her separated and getting double vaccinated she can be
integrated into my house.
i want to see how she will interact with my other cats first before i decide
waht to do .
she could be more work than it is worth though..
i need to decide right away though, i have no idea what to do .........
those of you wao have 3 cats, how do they interact with one another and do
you notice more cat hair on things with more cats? tha tis my hubbys biggest
thing
anyway ive been long winded enough

At one point we had one cat and one dog.  Several months later that had
increased, one cat at a time, to four cats and one dog.  The additional
cats didn't seem to cause many problems.  There were some adjustment
issues among the various cats, but they all managed to adjust all right.
I didn't notice any more cat hair with the additional cats.

Pearl is the first cat I have ever had difficulty integrating but that is
because she was much older and she has a very strong personality.  In the
past we did it often with very little trouble and my mom's seem to barely
blink when she brings in a new one. Every experience is different. I think
you could do it.

Dear Sandra,

It sounds like you need someone to tell you it's OK to let go of
this cat.  All right, IT'S OK!

Seriously though, I know that my mind would be split between
wanting to keep the kitty and wanting to be practical.  The sad truth
for all of us cat persons is that, "You can't save them all".  It
sounds like you do enough for cats already and in truth, the cats you
already have sound like enough for your husband's comfort.

Whatever you decide, you will still be a good person.  As for the
cats getting along, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.  You
won't know till you try.  You may not want to take the chance.

Regards and Purrs,
O J

I can't advice you, but wanted to send our best purrs that you find a good
solution for the cat and for yourself.

I can't help you Sandra, wish I could but I hope you decide to keep her, she
sounds so sweet, if I lived near I think I'd be tempted to try her with
