Purrs for PanCake

A fellow poster on another newsgroup just suffered a terrible shock
and loss.  His beloved tabby kitty, PanCake, was apparently killed by
a dog.  If you and your kitty families could spare some purrs for
PanCake and his slave, I'm sure they would be greatly appreciated.

Single-mindedness is all very well in cows or baboons; in an animal
claiming to belong to the same species as Shakespeare it is simply disgraceful.

What a horrible tragedy.  Many, many purrs for PanCake's gentler
journey to the RB and deepest sympathy for his slave.

Hello,

I am Pancake's slave, PlasmaBat (known to many other humans as
Michael).  I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for the
heartfelt sympathy and the many purrs.  They mean a lot to me, and to
Pancake's brothers and sister.  I'd just gotten over the loss of
another furry son, Tiger, whom I lost to heartworm in Oct. 2001.  I
wouldn't have made it over that without Pancake...now he's gone too.
I've got a total of three four-legged children waiting for me at the
RB now.  Caker's death really hit me hard...I think it was the
gruesomeness of it.  He sure didn't deserve what horrid fate befell
him.  Of course, the guilt and second-guessing will last for months
(Why didn't I look harder for him?  Why didn't I close him in the
bedroom before opening the door?etc etc) Time heals all wounds, they
say.  In the meantime I will remember all of the fun we had, and
treasure my remaining kitties for as long as I'm blessed to have them
in my life.

PB/aka Michael

What a shame!  We will light a candle for PanCake, and are sending
