Stinky and I have some things we do that we've done since he was a
little goofball, and one of them is this dumb peekaboo game we play.
I sit in the corner of the couch, and he sits on the floor beside it,
and I duck down behind the arm, and pop my head back up and out over
the arm every few moments.

He watches this with brightening eyes, perking ears, and quivering
whiskers as I  stick my head out, say something rude, or make a silly
face at him, then disappear again.  All the while, I know damn well
that one of those times, he is going to SHOOT STRAIGHT UP in the air
and try to grab my head, and I'm going to have to be *very* fast to
avoid being mauled. ;)    And yet I still do it . . .

Single-mindedness is all very well in cows or baboons; in an animal
claiming to belong to the same species as Shakespeare it is simply disgraceful.

I *think* I'm doing it for my own amusement, but that could just be
what he *wants* me to think. ;)  It is so funny to see him shoot
straight  up at me like that.

Cute! I used to play a peek-a-boo game with my orange Frodocat (RB) where
I'd peek around a corner of the wall and he'd then jump way up the wall at
me.

A bit frightening, isn't it, to see your cat (usually with the crazy
look) lunge straight at you?  I think I do it partially for the
adrenaline rush. ;)
