Mothership R&D is working

I just fixed dinner (yummy barbeque ribs), and went into the kitchen
to get a fudgesicle for dessert. What greeted me in the freezer was
one fudgesicle stacked on top of another, and the box in the trash.

I suddenly recalled that last night I got up and went into the kitchen
for a glass of water. While I was in there, for no apparent reason, I
had taken all the fudgesicles out of the box, stacked them in the
freezer, and thrown the empty box away.

I suppose that this is proof that the Mothership has perfected their
mind control lasers, and that initial testing is underway...

This could also explain why Little Feet has been keeping a close eye
on me all day.

It could be worse.  National Public Radio had a segment a few days
ago about people who are trying to lose weight, but eat high-calorie
food while sleepwalking, resulting in a net weight gain (yes, this is
a real, documented phenomenon, not just an excuse).  You could have
opened the freezer and found that all of the fudgesicles were gone,
with no memory of what had happened to them.

What's weird about that?  I do it all the time.  The ice cream pops
take up less room in the freezer than the box does.

Single-mindedness is all very well in cows or baboons; in an animal
claiming to belong to the same species as Shakespeare it is simply disgraceful.

OK, but in the dead of night? :)
