Inside crunchies, toe dipping, and more

So far, it's being a fun weekend here.

For starters, I noticed that the pool is still open. They had been
adding water, though, so the temperature was quite cool - and very
enjoyable.

Lady had followed me down to the pool, and lounged along the side of
the pool, in utter amazement that I would submerge myself in *water*!

Finally, she stood up, leaned down and sniffed at the water. She
looked up at me, then dipped a paw into the water, only to vigorously
shake it off again. She walked off, disgusted, but came back to keep
an eye on me until I did the sensible thing by getting out of the
water.

Later, I open the back door to see what I can see, and little Dulce
comes sidling up to me. I open the door wider for her, and she comes
on inside. Little Feet comes over to investigate.

Dulce comes in, walks over to the big bag of cat food, and stands on
her hind legs to look inside it. So I dig out a bowl and scoop out a
cup of crunchies for her. I have already put some outside for the
ferals, but she wants hers inside, where the next door neighbor's dog
won't chase her off.

All the ferals have figured out that when the neighbor's doorknob
rattles, they had better run for cover...

This morning, Little Feet is meowing at the back door, and there's
Dulce again. I let her in, and feed her. When she finishes, she and
Little Feet start playing together.

Little Feet has never really had a playmate before. Presto was already
eight when Little Feet adopted us, and he didn't like Little Feet at
all. None of the other ferals really wanted to play either - they were
too busy surviving.

But Dulce is a young and playful cat. She and Little Feet chase back
and forth through the house. Dulce gets up atop the air conditioner,
behind the blinds. When Little Feet walks by, she swats at him, then
runs to the other end of the house - with Little Feet running after
her.

When she wanted back out, Little Feet cried at the door.

I wish we could adopt Dulce. She is such a sweetie, and Little Feet
likes her so much.

Oh, now I've got three more cats at the front door wanting to be fed
and petted - Squeaky Girl, Buster and Lady...

Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

Hi Mark, I'm glad things are so "normal" at the Edwards household. You're still
the cat whisperer.
