Weeble is becoming quite sleek and elegant!  Hardly looks like the
funny little bughead you rescued!

And Lizzie is so pretty! With all the fuss over Weeble, I don't think
I've looked at her pictures recently. She has lovely eyes and beautiful
fur. The "high five" picture is really cute.

Lizzie was a rescue from the local animal shelter.  Hubby went there less
than a week after we lost Ivy RB to CRF (and this after his bawling &
blubbering and stating that we are NOT getting any more pets that won't
outlive us), and Lizzie picked him out - literally... he was looking through
the cat section and she reached a paw out of her cage and snagged him.  She
was not very happy when *I* went to pick her up the next day (local shelter
has 1 day wait to make sure you have supplies for the pet you are getting,
seems a lot of people come in there unprepared) as hubby was at work.  She
brightened up when he came home, though!  Took her to the vet that evening,
and she tried to bite the Dr when he gave her the worming meds, and took a
swat at him with those razor sharp claws when he gave her her shots(s)!
Fortunately, Dr has good reflexes, so she missed him.  Last time we had her
in, she had lost all of that and now cowers up against us.

When we got her, her eyes were almost as orange as her fur, but they're more
golden colored now.  She does have 'wobbly knees' - that is, occasionally
one or the other kneecap will pop out of place and she will start limping -
we pick her up and make her stretch her leg out and it pops back into place
(I actually felt it do it once).  TED says as long as we keep her weight
down (hence the reason she gets a mix of regular, diet & dental food) it
shouldn't be too much of a problem & shouldn't require surgery.  It hasn't
happened in a long time.

She is still hubby's cat though - she will hop on him and curl up on him &
purr while he's messing with his computer - something she will not do with
me, even though I'm the one that feeds her!

Funny how that happens.  Three of our cats literally picked us
out.  After the loss of Misty, our oldest cat, I was down at the
shelter three weeks later looking at kittens.  I was looking at the
Siamese triplets and wondering what kind of h*ll they could raise if
they all wanted to do the same thing at the same time.  My little boy
Sumo reached out of the cage and snagged my shirt.  He said, "Look at
me and this lovely Russian Blue cage-mate of mine.  You want to take
us home."  And I did.

The same thing happened to my wife when she picked out Squidget.
Lynda was down at the local PetsMart with no intentions of getting
another cat when a cute little kitten with a pink nose started to
carry on like crazy.  The little girl cried till Lynda went over, then
reached out and grabbed her hand and started to purr.  When Lynda came
home for the cat carrier, the little thing cried and mewed like crazy
till she was out of the store.  Then Squidget started in again when
Lynda got back until  the kitty was safe and sound in the carrier.

What could she do?  When a cat picks you out, sometimes you have
no choice.

Regards and Purrs,
O J

Weeble is mighty cute, but Lizzie is *gorgeous*!  However did I miss
her pictures before?  Please give her a smooch on her little pink nose
for me.  :-)

Little pink noses are the best. ;)

Obnoxiously following up on my own post, I have figured out why Lizzie
appealed to me so much - she reminds me of Mikey.  They've got the
same long and rangy look, and their faces are shaped similarly.  If
you erased all her colors and deleted her tail, you'd have Mike!  :-D

I've been enjoying Lizzie pics in abpa. She is such a sweet-looking girl
(though that maw is quite frightening ;). Weebles is the only cat I ever
heard about that liked apples! Frank wrinkles his nose at me when I eat an
apple.

Lizzie looks sweet, but she's got the 'typical tri-color temperament':
sweet one moment, all tooth & claws the next!  She loves to lure me in with
that white belly, and then pull a Venus flytrap on me ;)  I've got more
scratches from her in the than I have from Weeble, even though Weeble is
more rambunctious in his play.

The apples Weeble really likes are grown at an orchard south of my hometown,
Bedford IN, called Applacres.  They've been there for decades!  Every fall
they let you do your own apple picking in the orchard (of course, you have
to pay for the apples) and I used to LOVE that when I was a kid.  I would
even climb up the trees (they won't let you do that now, due to insurance
reasons) to get the few apples that the workers missed when they were
picking them.  I guess Weeble gets that love of apples from me ;)

I liked the tongue pics, and the orthodondic picture was very
fascinating.

Betty is always interested when I'm eating an apple, but I never let
her have any. :)

AWWWWWW, they're SO adorable!

Weeble might grow up to look like my beloved Aries RB, & if he behaves
as well you'll be such lucky humans :-)

2 perfect candidates for that RPCA tee-shirt, perhaps?
(No disrespect to my own boys or other favourites, of course)

Best

They are so cute!

It must give you comfort at night to know that you don't have to worry
about being attacked by paper towels. :-)

Last time I saw Weeble, he was just a kitten - looks full-grown now.
