If you remember I asked for purrs for my son's teacher's husband who was
diagnosed with stomach cancer earlier this month.  I'm very sorry to say
that the most they can do for him is give him some experimental drugs as the
disease has progressed too far for surgery or chemo.  But I received a
lovely card from his wife today that I wanted to share with you all (because
I printed out all your messages and put them in their mailbox) -- "The pet
people made us feel so loved -- thank you for a unique approach for
support!"

Many thanks ya'll.

Poor guy!  We're sending purrs that the experimental drugs work.

I'm sorry.  I'll be sending purrs for him and his family.
My friend's dad died of stomach cancer.  It took them forever to diagnose
and was quite far advanced by the time they did.  They removed the whole
stomach and he lived for another 1.5 years, but then the cancer came back
:-(

Sandpaper kisses, a cuddle and a purr. I have an alarm clock that's covered
in fur!

Continuing purrs for the family.

Here's hoping the experimental drugs can at least give him some extra quality
time with his loved ones.

This is a shame, but sometimes the experiemental treatments come
through with flying colors.  We will keep the purrs coming in hopes
that happens for him.

So sorry to hear this, we'd hoped for better news.  Purrs still
coming for the experimental drugs to have excellent results.  Prayers
for him and his family.

So sorry to hear the news were not better. We are purring for the
experimental meds to work a miracle.

Continued purrs and healing thoughts and wishes for the teacher's
husband.  You never know, maybe those drugs may work.  Might I suggest
alt.support.cancer for information and support for them both?
