This poor cat just can't get a break.
I took her in to be spayed and the vet called and said he'd found a tumor
before starting the surgery. I told him to go ahead and remove it or whatever
needed to be done. I haven't heard a progress report yet this a.m.
I appreciate any purrs, prayers, or just plain good vibes.

Also that she'll have no further problems and no problems with the

I must have missed something. Who is Alex and why didyou take her to
a shelter?

She was a stray I rescued off the street, and we have seven and are at
our limit. Had to wait a month for an appointment to get her into a
(mostly) no-kill shelter. She's a sweet, loving little thing that was
half-starved and dehydrated -- amazing how good she looks now! I hope
she will get adopted and have a wonderful life, but it sure is hard to
let them go.

It sure is hard. I don't need a fourth cat, but the shelter is full of much
prettier cats and I don't think Biskit would stand a chance especially all
nappy-looking and half-shaved. . DH is *still* asking "When are you taking
her?" He is such a comedian. I figure I can say:
1) I've spent XXX dollars on that cat. You expect me to give away that big an
investment?
2) Just as soon as her fur grows back. (I can surreptitously keep shaving it)
3) "I did take her. That's an illusion you're seeing, not a cat. Probably a
product of your guilty conscience. I better go back and get her for the sake of
your mental health."

lol! I love #3, too, but boy, I can relate to #1. When we took in
Merlyn, I thought "seven cats? No way!" But I wanted to make sure
she was okay, and had enough cash flow at the time to do all the
deworming, testing, defleaing, demiting, and spaying. By the time I
was done, I was thinking "Geez, as much as we've spent on this cat,
I'm gonna *keep* her!" lol! (Wanted to, anyway). Next time, I'm
adopting one from a shelter. Cheaper, and no tearing my hair out
worrying about recovery from a spay!

Me, too. You know, people are always complaining about the $70 adoption fee.
It's a bargain! They get a spayed cat with shots and dewormed, tested for
feleuk. . If you pick up a "free" kitten, all that costs over $200. I'd go with
the shelter cats every time too. You're doing better than me, though. My
absolutely personal limit here is four cats. Any more, and I just can't keep
up. I sure admire people who can. The only reason I can keep Biskit is because
Jack died last summer, leaving slot #4 open.

Poor little kitty. A spay is major surgery, but most cats, since it's
usually done when they're fairly young, recover quickly. Lets hope the
same goes for whatever further surgery is needed. Purrs for Biskit, and
for you, too. You must be worried to pieces! Please let us know how
things turn out.
