Weeble the Guard-cat!

Magic Mood Jeep? - 10 Mar 2004 15:56 GMT Monday, we got our tax refund check in the mail, so yesterday I took a quick trip to the nearby ATM to deposit it. In the 5-10 minutes I was gone, Weeble had defended the house from a marauding 1/2 roll of paper towel & left it to die a horribly lonely death in the middle of the living room floor. The outer 2 layers were nicely shredded (remind me NOT to make the little bugger mad at me). Not sure where this roll came from as the one we keep on the table behind the sofa (for quick cleanups when we dine in front of the TV, or when a cat hock up a hairball) was where we left it - it MUST have been an intruder!
Weeble the guard-cat! Weeble the protector! Weeble the great!
He got an extra treat & a special hug for his efforts (after I finished laughing - but don't tell him that).

I just called my mate in to read the screen over my shoulder, and she fell apart too. Not because of Weeble's bravado in defending your home, because Emily our guard cat does the same thing here. It's the wording that did us in. I mean, "Weeble had defended the house from a marauding 1/2 roll of paper towel & left it to die a horribly lonely death in the middle of the living room floor" would make a sphinx laugh!

Yes, that was a very well written, humorous tale, I had a good laugh, too. Especially the conclusion that the roll in question must have been an intruder!
Any new Weeble pics? He must be getting big!

Magic Mood Jeep? - 14 Mar 2004 14:28 GMT We did take some piccies of Weebs attacking another roll of PT, this one NOT an intruder, but a sacrificial roll (only about 4-5 towels left on it) that was thrown on the floor as bait. They are still on the CF card and I will try to post them on Webshots within the next couple days

Stinky is also always aware of the dangers of having sheets of tissue paper around, and pounces on them and shreds them before they can carry out their evil schemes. ;)

Magic Mood Jeep? - 15 Mar 2004 21:42 GMT Actually, I **ALMOST** named him Hoover, as when I fed him as a wee kitten (I hand raised him from a few days old), he had enough suck-power to partially collapse the formula bottle!!!! At least once (or twice) a feeding, I had to *pry* the nipple out of his mouth as he didn't want to let go of it, loosen the cap on the bottle and let some air in to relieve the pressure - so he could feed a bit better. And then when he was done gorging himself, he would get the hiccups until I burped him! After that, if I tried to put him in his nest-box for a nap, he would get all fussy, so I would hold him against my chest... and in about 5-10 minutes he would fall sound asleep, then (and only then) could I put him back in his nest-box and go about my own routine.
He is a spoiled little bugger. When I was bottle feeding him, he would scramble around frantically looking for the nipple, and I had to make an "O" with my thumb & forefinger of one hand so his head would be still enough to get the bottle to his mouth. Now, in the middle of the night, he joins us in bed, and when he's hungry, he finds one of my hands and nudges it with his nose (even if he has to crawl under the blankets to find said hand)!

Pam S. who's glad that she has her towel monsters tamed, more or less

Awesome protection for a baby-kitty! Think what he will be when he is all grown up! <beg>
