TJ and The Dust - 06 Mar 2004 19:52 GMT
I really miss just sitting back and reading all the posts and participating in
the discussions.  Sheesh, real life just gets in the way of all that good stuff
huh?  I want to just let everyone know that I am alive and I am thinking of them
and their master furrballs.

Like Julie mentioned in her post I too am on a major physical overhaul this
year. I have committed to many events this year and have been getting into shape
to do them.  Lots of running, biking and swimming.  All leading up to my first
sprint distance triathlon on July 4th aptly named the Firecracker. I just have
to make it through a 1/4 mile swim, 12 mile bike and 3 mile run.  Piece of cake
right? :)  I did a 25 mile bike race, mostly uphill into the wind, with my DH
last month.  We rode a tandem and we came in second. I think he did most of the
work!  LOL.  I have been taking swim lessons twice a week (I know how to swim
but need to work on my strokes, <Daves, Mark, be still>).  I am currently
training with a group to run my first 10K on May 2nd.  Then the triathlon in
July, then another sprint triathlon called the Tinfoilman (I like that name) in
September.  El Tour de Tucson bike race, 65 miles (maybe the 100) in November
and then running a 1/2 marathon in December.  That's it for this year.  A good
start...

So you can see that I am being a very busy bee these days.  I feel good, strong,
I am doing things I never thought I could do.  My DH is also going to compete
with me in some events too so we can do our training together.  My daughter
rides her bike when I run and when we cycle we hook on her trailer bike to DH's
bike and off we go.  We still haven't figured out how to get Dusty off his duff
though.  He is getting pretty portly again and he doesn't seem a bit interested
in exercising with us!  Damn fatboy!

I will try and get to the group more.  Perhaps as I become more fit and have
more energy I can stay up past 8pm and then I can play on the computer!  Purrs
to all, I miss yous!

We miss you and the Dust too. Glad that he is filling out again and that you
are keeping fit, though.

Miss you, too, TJ -- haven't been around as much either but at least you've
got a great reason.  Good work on getting in shape!
Christine (slightly envious, but not energetic enough to do anything about
it yet!)

Christine, sorry for piggybacking but the original post has fallen off
my server.

<The remainder of the very energetic post snipped>

TJ, I'm embarrassed that you would even mention my post after reading
yours. You are way out of my league! My overhaul is basically trying to
lose 100 lbs with diet and exercise.  You are going for the gold with
some very impressive goals for the year. I'm cheering you on from here,
girl, you are my inspiration :)
