jXwXeXrXmXoXnXt@sonic.net - 04 Mar 2004 02:19 GMT These are hilarious! What is silver paper, by the way? I used to work for a typesetting company, and the really fancy paper that you would use to print high-quality typeset copy was called "silver paper", but I'm not sure if that's what you mean. If you did mean that, then Willow has some expensive entertainment needs. :)

Tish S - 04 Mar 2004 07:21 GMT Persephone is wierd in so many ways that I don't know where to begin.
Spock is easier. He is obsessed with going outside, but that's not very odd. The one odd think he just *loves* is being spun around (and around and around) on those office chairs where the seat turns 360 degrees. He will hop up on one of our two office chairs and *demand* to be spun and will stay on there until he is too dizzy to walk, whereupon he will slither off (can't jump when you're dizzy) and lay flat-out on the ground, purring. A little later he will jump up for another go. Makes me and Dave laugh every time.
Persephone loves chasing and retrieving. She loves paddling in water (and flinging it everywhere). She is an inveterate toe-chaser/bedmouse killer. She chews (gently) on my fingers when I type. She suckles my neck when I let her (not often). She bosses the dogs. She plays the chair game with Mum and only Mum. She talks in whole sentences. She purrs in double-time. She is obsessed with toilet flushing. She hates the outside, except the pot where we grow grass for them. She thinks me and Dave are normal (that's the clincher!). Actually, I've seen examples of all of these behaviours from members of the group, so maybe she's not so odd.
Ted is old and grumpy and proudly carries a "dangerous animal" note at TED's surgery. She doesn't need to be wierd. She just *is*.

The one odd think he just *loves* is being spun > around (and around and around) on those office chairs where the seat > turns 360 degrees. Yes, Roxy loves this too. I've been spinning her on the office chair for years. One day quite recently, while I was spinning Roxy around, Licorice was watching. So then of course, he had to have a turn. So I spun him - and now he HAS to be spun around at least once a day. He'll even meow at me wherever I am, to come in to the office. Once I come in, he'll jump onto the chair, get "into position" (body pressed up against the back of the chair, arms hooked around arm of chair), and look up at me expectantly.
Smudge isn't too into spinning games, although she tried it once, very recently (I think she wanted to know what all the fuss was about), and seemed to like it OK - she didn't get upset anyway - but hasn't asked for any more spins since then.
Sometimes, Licky falls off the chair while I'm spinning him, which makes him get angry at the evil chair and stalk out of the room in disgust. But he's still really dizzy, so he actually staggers out of the room, to my great amusement. (And I think he's too dizzy to care that I'm laughing at him.)
Bunch of weirdos, all of them!

The silver paper I had in mind was the kind you find around chocolates :-)) Interesting that you used to work for a typesetters, was it pre-computer or post?

The first time I noticed a tomato out of place was when I sat down in my office chair and felt something cold and wet on my butt. Looking at the chair, I saw a crushed cherry tomato, and knew immediately who the guilty party was: a certain *black and white* individual! :)

Helen Wheels - 04 Mar 2004 07:48 GMT > Willow loves: > - Hearing silver paper being scrunched up into a tiny ball for her to [quoted text clipped - 23 lines] > > Deb. My Stirling seems to have some sort of kinky relationship with my backpack. Several times I've walked into my room and caught him rolling around on it rubbing his face up and down the shoulder straps. He always jumps to his feet and does that innocent sauntering off thing when I catch him though. I'm sure he'd whistle too if he could. Helen Wheels
CATherine - 05 Mar 2004 04:36 GMT >> Willow loves: >> - Hearing silver paper being scrunched up into a tiny ball for her to [quoted text clipped - 31 lines] >whistle too if he could. >Helen Wheels Amber likes to rub his face on my sweaty shoes as soon as I take them off. And he loves to sleep on top of my laundry. one day I tossed a rug on top of the laundry. It didn't smell like me and he got out of there in a huff.
Djoser is rather kinky about the way he looks wrestling a throw rug. Kind of like he is getting his jollies off.
I have an old plastic shower curtain hanging beside the refridgerator to insulate it from the heat of the wood stove. Robin has a thing about it. Every time he walks by, his tail curves until it waves under the curtain and then he turns and lightly attacks the curtain. The botton 10 inches of the curtain is now fringed.
Sheba is crazy about Cheetos. they are not on her diet. But every time I get them out or rattle a plastic bag she attacks me to give her some. i usually end up giving her a couple tiny bites to satisfy her. I figure the stress of not getting any is worse for her than the tiny amount of fat and spice in a couple little bites.

>Amber likes to rub his face on my sweaty shoes as soon as I take them >off. Felix will, given opportunity, sleep on my sneakers with his head stuffed into one [yes, he does like them better after they've been worn a lot :-)]. In fact, he and I have had some amusing disputes over the sneakers. He'll wrap his little arms around them and glare if he notices I'm about to want them, and I've had to argue him into giving them up. :-)

Charleen Welton - 05 Mar 2004 17:32 GMT Wonderful subject.
I get migraine headaches often and intensley. I will take medication and apply an Migraine Ice patch to my forehead immediately so that there is some reduction of pain until the meds kick in. Then I fall asleep during which time the patch slips off.
I was asleep when boom on my back, whack (gently) to my arm, four white paws walking over my face: Mr. Pumpkin was really drunk on the menthlatum (r) contained in the patch which he found. He would throw it up and try to catch it. If it went afar and I was in the way too bad! Not knowing if it was bad for him or not I would soon remove it from the room. What a kitty pout I would return to.

Mischief - 06 Mar 2004 04:18 GMT Mischief likes to jump into the tub after I've taken a shower and lick the bottom of the tub!
Imp has a weird fetish with my roommate's hair. He'll knead it continuously and proceed to chew on it. I didn't believe it until I found a hair the same color as my roommate's in Imp's poop!

Wrestling my shoes (Honest, Mom, it *needed* killing. Besides, it started it.)
Eating grapes, watermelon, asparagus, and dill pickles
Charging back and forth and back and forth through his tunnel
Helping me change the sheets
Anything peppermint, which freaks him out far more than catnip does
Having camellias in his water bowl

Marina - 06 Mar 2004 08:28 GMT > Willow loves: > - Hearing silver paper being scrunched up into a tiny ball for her to [quoted text clipped - 21 lines] > > I live in a house of nuts :-)) So cute. I don't know if my cats have any fetishes as such. Unless you count Frank's need to have all closet doors opened now and then. Nikki's love for boxes and bags. Oh, yes, and sometimes Frank will rub himself all over my used underwear, lying on the floor (sloppy me).
