There I was, relaxing in the recliner watching the news, when Rocky
came to the door and announced he was ready to come inside. Since
Little Bit was napping on the raised footrest, I had to be careful
getting out of the chair, but managed to get up and open the door for
the Rock.

At least I thought I had managed not to wake her, but when I turned
back I saw that Little Bit had shifted to the chair seat as soon as I
got up, and now Sammy was now on the footrest. They were acting like
they'd been napping there all along, and putting on performances
worthy of an Oscar. I have to admit Little Bit's performance was
better, since Sammy kept cocking her ears at me, and I could tell she
was snickering at me.

Oh well, it was about dinner time anyway. If I put out some food I
figured they would follow me to the kitchen. So, I went and opened up
a can, but only Rocky came to eat. I decided to make a cup of coffee,
hoping that they'd give up the chair if I acted like I wasn't
interested.

Big mistake! I finished making coffee and returned to the living room
to find not one, not two, but all three cats now sacked out on my
chair. Sammy now had her snickers under control, so she and Little Bit
looked like they had been asleep there for hours. Rocky is new to the
acting business - his posture was ok, but his eyes were obviously open
as he watched me come in the room. What'd I do? What could I do? I
gave up on getting my chair back and turned on the computer.

5 minutes later I heard a noise in the kitchen and looked up to see
Sammy eating, and Little Bit on her way back into the living room
after finishing her dinner. I turned around, to find Rocky laying in
front of the patio door watching cat TV (AKA the bird feeders).

Anyone care to guess how many cats were in the recliner after everyone
had eaten and returned to the living room? Zero, zip, nada. Sammy took
her after-dinner nap in her carrier - Little Bit took hers on the
couch - Rocky fell asleep in front of the Cat TV.

Tsk, tsk Steve. You don't really think it's *your* chair now, do you??

No kidding!  Persia loves the warm spot I just vacated on the sofa... no
amount of coaxing will get her to give it up without a (friendly) growl.

Felix, DH, and I tend to all like the same spot on the sofa. :-)

I can see you stacking up - DH with you on his lap and Felix on your lap.

DH would go for that, but Felix isn't much of a lap cat, except
occasionally.

I have a sheepskin on my chair - Apache and I have a daily
discussion as to whose chair this is.

LOL! Ever since I've sat on them a few times *by mistake*, the cats won't
sleep in my chair any longer, or if they do, they vacate it quickly when
they see me approach it. I swear, I didn't sit on them on purpose, but of
course, the cats think I am evil and will sit on them every chance I get. If
Frank is sleeping on the bed and I go and sit down on the edge of the bed,
he will get up and move if he thinks I sat down too close. It was a
*mistake* for pity's sake! Give me a break already.

Funny, when I sit down on the bed, ostensibly to put on my hose and get
ready for work, Persia insists on climbing onto my lap.  Uh, dear, you need
to move.  MEOW!  PURR.  No, really, you need to move, I have to get ready
for work.  OW.. OW!  Persia, come on, get off my legs.  I have to stand up
to get her off my lap.

I love the part about you sitting on them every chance you get!  But
you've sat on both of them, and more than once?  It must be those dark
Finnish winters. :)

It must be. I've sat on Nikki twice, but only once on Frank, and he is the
one who will never let me forget.

PUUURRRRR. Sweet dreams, my lovely lady. Don't worry, I'm punishing the
hoomin severely for sitting on me. I will never let her forget that. You
just come in my warm fuzzy arms and let me rock you to sleep. PPUUUURRRRR.

Yours,
Frankie

My love, you are so beautiful when you are angry, but really, I have it in
hand. Come back in my arms and let's take a nice nap together.

Purrs,
Frankie, who would rather have some lovin' than some warrin'
