I had my patio screened on Monday.  I did not screen the bottom so the
cats could still come and go.  The screen is not for bugs but a
fiberglass screen that is more for blocking sunlight. OK that is all
stuff I said before.  The cats seem to love it.  They can sit behind the
screen and see but not be seen, safe and secure.  A couple of times they
have pawed at each other with the screen between them.  Its funny to
watch.  The trouble is other cats seem to like it as well.  Last night a
tom even bigger than bruiser who has been thrashing Matthew on a regular
basis crawled halfway under the wall when Maya let him know his presence
was not welcome.  He had no idea she was perched on a shelf watching her
domain and left in a hurry.  The last two mornings there has been a black
and white cat curled up in the papasan chair on the patio.  Both cats are
neighborhood cats who live in the houses across the condo boundary wall.  
In fact he is the cat who chased Matthew the other night.  I don't blame
the guy.  Here is this nice safe place with a warm comfortable chair to
catch a nap while it is cold outside.  The problem is Maya.  Yesterday
she wasn't there when I opened the patio door and ran him off but she
spent a good part of the day repeatedly sniffing the pad on the chair.  
This morning she was there and got really angry about it.  I may have to
block the rest of the bottom off at night when I go in.  Bruiser of
course didn't care.  He has to be about the most even tempered cat I have
ever seen.  He never seems to get mad about anything.  His motto must be
can't we all just get along, well that and I'm hungry.
