Cat Forum / Cat Anecdotes / March 2004They're all sick
We only have three furkids but they're all ailing. Speckles is fighting deteriorating kidney, Hobo has diabetes, now Sandy has a liver problem (enzymes so high they're off the chart). Tests have ruled out hepatitis, Cushing's, etc., and apparently the only possibilities left are hepatitis degeneration or cancer, neither "fixable." Humans are better off but going through stress, sleep deprivation, and plain old worry. I know each of you has been through similar ordeals and rough times, and I empathize with one and all. You certainly have more than your share of illness to deal with! I'm really sorry to hear it. Diabetes is serious but also manageable, and while kidney disease is a losing battle in the long run, you can keep your cat in decent shape with it for quite a while.
