The calico girl checked out pretty good at the vets. The tests so far are all
negative, and he doesn't see anything wrong except "she just needs a few
groceries."  She's still going to have to be isolated for a while, just in
case, but it sure is encouraging *so far.*  He gave her the first round of
vaccinations, and wormed her. We're going to wait on the spaying till she gains
a little bit of weight. He doesn't think she is pregnant though.

Anyway! Thank you all so much! I l left her there for the afternoon, he is
going to shave her poor matted belly and clean her up a bit. Will try to post a
better pic soon.

I need a name!!

WOO HOO, Sherry!  We've been purring for good news re your kitty and yay, it
came to pass!  I'm sooo happy for you and the little one.

For some reason, "Posey" comes to mind; I guess 'cause she's such a pretty
girlcat.

Wonderful news, please give her a scritch from me.

Oddly, I thought the name "Happy Dance" was pretty good.

Then again, I called my cat "Shmoggleberry" - what do I know about naming
cats?

That's great news!  And that's such a wonderful-looking cat that you need a
great name.  Let us know what you decide.

Great news for the calico girl, and bravo to you for taking her in!
As far as names, have you browsed David Stevenson's page or Flippy's
page for possible names?
http://www.microserve.com/~dave/catnames.html
http://www.flippyscatpage.com
Perhaps some of the choices there might match her furrsonality...:)

Meanwhile, the Fairfax felines and I send purrs, best fishes,
and good thoughts to you and your calico girl...

Cheers-

Sherry,

What about "Callie," since she's a calico cat.  Or is that too obvious?  (I
like names that end with the "ee" sound for cats.  They seem to respond well
to that sound.)

WOOHOOOHOOOHOO!!! I'm so happy as she is such a pretty cat!!!!

Hmmm. SO unusual looking a girl deserves a cool name. Thaiss. Or Lakme
(pronounced "Lock-May"). Or Belle Starr (famous woman bandit).

LOL, I don't think she is now. The vet''s office just called and said they were
so far behind they got her clipped, but not bathed and I can't pick her up till
morning. She warned me that because of the awful matts they had to shave her
belly, both sides and chest and she is pretty weird looking, being so skinny
and all.
This sounds kinda silly, but when she jumped up in the window when we first saw
her, we were watching "Seabiscuit." Then when the vet called, he said he didn't
have to sedate her at all to groom, but the tech had to put a towel in her lap
because the cat was "making biscuits" (kneading) while she tried to work. Sso I
thought about naming her "Biskit."

A good friend of mine named her cat Biscuit, so I think it's a fine name!

oh, I'm so happy to hear the little sweetie is healthy. We will keep purring
and praying that she is absolutely fine and gets fat soon. Hope the rest of
the 'family' accepts her quickly.

Winderful news, Sherry! We'll keep purring that everything comes back
negative, and for the hairdressing to go well.

I'm *way* behind  reading posts, so I just saw the original post and
picture, but I can see how pretty she will be when she's dry and well
fed. She has a very pretty face! And being owned by a calico gives me a
special affinity for them.

Many purrs on the way for this fortunate cat who found you (and for her
medical tests, too, of course).
