Fun with pasta

My sister is moving to Texas and gave me a lot of stuff she didn't
want to take, including a lot of food. So I suddlenly have a huge
container of noodles to find a canister for. I start consolidating
half-full canisters of macaroni so I will have some whole containers
for noodles.

But I made a mistake. I poured some macaroni from a large container
into a medium container. It wasn't big enough. Consequently, I had
macaronis cascading everywhere before I could stop the flow. A lot of
them went on the floor.

Of course, anytime I work in the kitchen, I have a furry audience. The
hard macaronis rattling into the container and onto the floor sounded
just like catfood. Suddenly, there was a mad scramble as all the cats
fought over the macaronis skittering across the floor. Robin,
especially, thought they were fun to play hockey with. Sheba would
corner one and Robin would whap it right out from under her nose and
then go chasing it. LOL!!

Amber and Djoser soon lost interest but Sheba and Robin actually ate
some of them. After they got through playing hockey.:-))

I suspect that you will be finding pieces of macaroni, a few at a
time, for the next several months or even years, as the cats leave a
"toy" out in the open.  I once had a newly-purchased roll of stamps
disappear, and then reappear in the middle of the living room floor a
couple of months later, having obviously been used as a cat toy in
the meanwhile.

Oh, yes. I am familiar with small household objects suddenly
diasppearing and then miraculously reappearing months later. As for
the macaroni, I stepped on one this morning.

LOL! Frank and Nikki like uncooked spaghetti, but I haven't tried with other
sorts of pasta.

I hope they chew it up real good. it makes me think of little sharp
sticks in the throat. Do they play with it before they eat it?

I'm supposed to hold the stick of spaghetti and then the cat chews on the
other end until it's all soggy and they can eat the mush, or until the whole
stick breaks into several pieces that fly around the room, and then they
play with the bits.

Fun indeed!!!  I've seen ice cube hockey, milk jug ring hockey, cat food
hockey, and Mandy toy hockey.  I've never thought of pasta hockey.  It
does sound like they had a great time though.

Oh, they had a great time. So, why are you looking at your floor
speculatively? Thinking of a 9-cat clean-up squad? ;-D

Yup, but decided that the kitchen isn't big enough.  You should see this
place at night when they get their canned food.  It could pass as
feeding time at the Cat Herder's commercial.  We have to feed three
different foods as each has their own favorites, which change from time
to time, and there are also rovers, who eat their food then graze any
leftovers from other bowls.
