We moved the computer from the dining room to an upstairs bedroom that we
are using as an office/reading room. The cats are so confused. Things are
missing from one room and are in another room. They don't know what to do
now when we are on the computer. In the dining room there was a chest near
the computer they could sit on and watch us. We have a computer station now
but they haven't gotten up on it yet. They just walk into the room and cry
at me.

You have to *show* them. Otherwise it will take at least 6 months ;)

Pick them up and "explain" it to them.

I've got a really confused dog here. She is a tiny, deaf blind ancient
poodle. She spends her days in the family room and her nights on our bed.
We carry her outside at intervals. Her nose and appetite are fine, so her
life consists of figuring out when there is food and finding it.
Her "daddy" fell and broke his heel last week and has been in bed. She
finally figured out where he went and has been wanting to spend the day in
bed with him too. Yesterday, after I joined them for a nap, she woke up
with no clue as to what time of day it was. Very upset to get up and not
get breakfast.

LOL! Poor babies, purrs that they get used to the new arrangement soon.

Guess it all depends on the cat. Little Bit is convinced any change is
an evil plot, while Sammy is immediately up and/in any thing new ;-)

The same thing happens with my cats. Imp thinks anything new is a
trick and part of the great human conspiracy, while MIschief sticks
her nose into anything.

Same here, with Frank being the cautious, paranoid one and Nikki the
fearless explorer.

Well? MOVE the damned chest UP there! Sheesh.

The room isn't finished yet. I want to put a small table in front of a
window and it would be near the computer so they can sit there and watch
me.

Ah so. Well, THEN you will be forgiven by your owners.

Today I moved a chair next to me so they can sit there and help me.

Why did you move the computer without consulting them? I'm not surprised
they cry at you.;-)
