What a wimp

Yesterday I took Psycho Cat From Hell, a.k.a. Marble to TED for annual booster
jabs. Marble is a typical male - all mouth & no action :-Þ

In the car going to TED's Marble howled the entire journey...ooh.. all of
six/seven minutes. Once in TED's waiting area, Marble howled and mewed
pathetically the entire time. Once in with TED Marble shut up, put on his best,
"Woe, I am an abused cat!" expression - reminiscent of those 1970's naff prints
of large headed kids with big eyes with tears rolling down their cheeks and
decided to go into semi-liquid state and see how close to the floor he could
get the part of his anatomy where his spine should be. TED was bearly
surpressing laughter at this pathetic specimen of the mighty feline in front of
him. On the way home from TED's, Marble howled the entire epic six/seven minute
journey back home and once inside home, he howled for another half-hour and
clawed the carpet. Then he promptly slept for the rest of the day.

What a wimp. No wonder Waffles has a permanent look of disgust when it comes to
the mere mention of Psycho Cat's name ;-) Francis, on the other hand, just
ignores him.

Bless him :)

>Bless him :)

Not my words of choice, but there you go ;-)

Next time I'm considering putting him in the cat carrier & securing it to the
pannier rack on my bike so I can cycle in with him. Could be an "interesting"
experience.

On another NG I subscribe to, one about cycling, there's a lady there who
transports her cat this way and she says he is better being transported by bike
than by car.

It'll take me longer to get to TED, but I may just give it a go.

Cheers, helen s

What a wimp, indeed. I hesitate to say this, as I know a certain ladycat may
take offence, but Frank is exactly the same. He yowls all the way there and
in the waiting room, but when we get in to TED, he is quiet as a mouse and
flinches at TED's every move. Then he yowls all the way home (on the bus,
30+ minutes), but when we get home he usually curls up to sleep at once.

No, no, no... Frank *sings* and he *sings* *exquisitely*.

Marble, on the other hand, *howls*

Purrs Waffles
(quite able to make the distinction between Frank singing and Marble howling)

I think you'll find Frank is not being a wimp, he's just singing. Sometimes
humans can be so dumb.

Freddie just LOVED going for car rides. At least during daylight - if
it's dark out, there's MONSTERS trying to get you, donchaknow. He was
happiest the years I had a Le Sabre. It had a very wide, carpeted
shelf under a large rear window. He'd spread all over it and watch
everything out there. I often noticed in the mirror kids spotting him
and being delighted - a bright yellow/orange cat being "gorgeous" on
gray carpeting makes a nice picture.
I used the same vet for many years, until he retired. As soon as I was
withing about 6 blocks of TED, no matter which route, Freddie would
*know* where he was (going where they do undignified things with cold
thermometers) and I had to drive the rest of the way with him
(literally) climbing all over me and frantically trying to persuade me
to turn around. Once inside, though, he would just "give up all hope"
and quietly suffer. BOY, could he suffer!

Sort of reminds me of Sammy. As long as she can watch out the windows
she's having fun, but if it's dark or she's inside the carrier, it's a
terrifying experience.

<snip>

Glad to hear he survived this awful cat abuse episode.

Rocky pretty much gives up the fight after he's in the carrier. Last
time he was in the carrier, lucky for me, was when I went to pick him
up after his neutering - took two of the vet techs to get him in LOL.
Once inside there's not a peep out of him, I wonder if he's hoping
I'll forget about him if he just keeps quiet.

Course he's a lot calmer not that he's a part of the family. I just
hope that next summer, when time for his shots/checkup, he'll go
quietly.

Perhaps a little reverse psychology would work.  Try telling him what
a big, brave, wonderful boy he is-- like your BF!
