Hello all!
Are their agencies or places that helps with vets bills? Spot's teeth are
bad again--I think he is running a low-grade fever. His breath is really bad
and I just looked inside his mouth--mercy!
He had a dental and two teeth extracted--but, the dental didn't help and
there are a couple of teeth looking pretty bad and lose.
He is regurgetating about once a day. It is always whole food and about ten
pieces.
I haven't worked in over two months and don't have the money to take him to
the vet.
Something is going on with Girly's right ear. Not sure what. The outer base
(close to her cheek bone) is red and inflammed--she scratched it quite a bit
and a couple of times she has scratched it til it has bled. You can hear
that hear 'flapping'--know what I mean?
She is eating well and doesn't seem to stop her--she scratches at it vigorly
about 10 times a day--that I hear. She is a ferel cat--so it isn't an option
of me looking at it. I tried to when I pet her or she is in my lap--but if I
get close she shoots away. If I giver her scritches on that side--she stops
to scratch it.
Thanks,
Jen
P.S. George has two small bare spot on his scruff--but the skin looks good--
no redness, breakage, discoloration, etc. I figured the cats must have had
a 'row'--hhmm. I can't tell if the area is spreading.
Dang! I really need to take all three of them--but with no funds????????????

What area are you in Jen? Country? In town? Very big? Some of my
ideas are: set up a payment plan with a sympathetic local vet (we have
one here who is does that but it is through word of mouth-she doesn't
advertise it), seek out local cat clubs and write a letter of need
(they may take you up as a cause)...look online for a local branch of
the big organizations like CFA...if you haven't already, talk to your
local animal shelters...maybe not just your town, but nearby as well.
They can vary a lot. Talk to EVERYONE. Embaressing perhaps, but the
more folks you ask the more might be able to help. Are there any local
rescues? They might have some ideas as well, or access to a vet.
Offer to clean kennels or something. That's my 2 cents...hope some of
it was helpful!

Hi there! I live in San Luis Obispo County, CA
I will look at CFA. I looked online at a few organizations and they only do
emergencies like surgeries, etc. This wouldn't qualifiy for emergency--but
it is urgent.
And, they have a program here for small monthly payments--but have to have a
job.
I will look at CFA--what is it? I haven't heard of it before
Dan--you have mail.
Thanks,
Jen

I completely understand. I don't have a job either and it's so hard to
cover vet bills. I wish I had an answer for you!

Don't you have the equivalent of the Blue Cross or PDSA that will treat
your animal for free so long as you can prove you are unemployed?

I do hope you can get a vet to see your kitties - maybe a local shelter can
help.
Best wishes,
