Since the trip to the vet last Tuesday, Caramel's tail has improved
quite a lot.
She is now able to move it a lot more freely, and whilst she still
cannot hold it straight up, it is getting there - it's a sort of arc
shape at the moment, and she can twitch the end now.
So, thank you all for your purrs - they seem to be working.
Kate.

Great news. Thanks for letting us know.
We'll keep purring that the recovery's total.

Glad to hear this. What did the vet say caused the problem?

The vet said that he thought it was a pull, and that she'd strained a
nerve in the tail.
He gave her an anti-inflammatry injection, but said it would otherwise
heal itself - he said it could take between a week and 6 months for her
to regain full tail function, and that there was an outside possibility
that it may not improve.
Fortunately, it does seem to be improving slowly - its markedly
improved since it first happened.
