Hi all,

Sorry to have just sort of dropped out of sight this month -- Real Life just
became overwhelming and I had to withdraw to collect myself and try to
regain some equilibrium.  So for all the posts for those and their pets who
are in need, please know I'm sending retroactive purrs and good thoughts in
hopes they will still find their way to you and help in whatever way they
can.

Meanwhile, re helping animals from Katrina -- there is a  Humane Society
link at the www.animalrescuesite.com that allows you to contribute towards
their rescue work in the aftermath of Katrina.

regards,
Christine and Omar, Oreo, Midnight, Robin & Tucker

Welcome back!! We missed you. Purrs for a successful "regrouping."
I do intend to send a small donation towards animal rescue in La. Can't
do much but every little bit helps. It's going to be tough for them.

Welcome back Christine. I was just about to send you an e-mail to
see how you and the cats are doing. I am about to stop giving
Rusty the Clomicalm.  He is been doing very well and he fights me when I
pill him. It is much easier to give him a few drops of Rescue Remedy.
How is Midnight ?

Winnie, you're so sweet. I appreciate it.

I've been able to take Omar in for bloodwork now at 3-week intervals instead
of weekly and he appears to have stabilized pretty well.  He still needs his
shot of Percorten every 3 weeks but he is doing soooo much better and we've
been able to reduce his daily dose of Prednisone over time from 10 mg
initially (!) to 5 mg. to 2.5 mg to 1.25 mg as of the previous 3-week
period.  I can tell he feels more like normal by his behavior and he is such
a good boy taking his meds. His weight has also stabilized at about 11.6
lbs.

Midnight and Tucker are both still on their compounded clomipramine drops --
I've just not been able to face changing their meds recently.  They both
give in to "marking" behavior at times (1-2 a week)  in spite of the
medicine, just not nearly on the scale we had before.  Midnight is usually
the culprit; she is such a rascally moody little (well, not so little) girl.
Sometimes I wonder if she gets back at me for giving her the icky-tasting
medicine ... !!!

Tucker and Omar are doing better together these days although it is still
very much a "we may both be orange but we're not buds under the skin" type
of relationship.  I have caught them both recently in mirror image positions
keeping the hairy eyeball on each other.  I have some cute shots I'll post
soon to my yahoo album of them and then I'll post the link.

Oreo's goal in life is still to get as much attention as possible while
simultaneously shedding in as many directions as possible.  And Robin, cute
little guy, is keeping me in line every morning at 6 a.m. by knocking things
off the dresser so I get up and start dishing out the kitty breakfasts.

regards,
Christine

For some reason that just cracked me up!  Glad you are feeling
better...I have to do that sometimes too.

I love "the hairy eyeball." Cats are so good at it. ;)

Nice to see you back, Christine, I was wondering where you'd got to.
