Hi all,

Although I'm not posting I'm still reading the group and keeping up with
things.

I don't have another cat yet, still missing Sophie too much. (and of
course feeling guilty which is normal when I lose someone. You know the
"If only I'd done this or that" Syndrome.)

I'll let you know when I have a new Furry friend.

Hi Judith,
Of course Sophie will always have her special place in your heart.
I think when your new furry friend shows up, you'll find that your heart
will still have room.

There's another thought about a new fur friend and that is that Sweep was
a real bossy, clever, practical joker. Then Sophie was so very gentle and
laid back and of course an Angel. So the question is that having had two
extremes and survived, what next?

That's why cats are so wonerful, every one is an individual. Sooner or
later you will be adopted by a cat you'll love just for itself. Hugs and
purrs.

Thanks for the purrs. All will no doubt be revealed in Bast's good time.

LO Judith

Nothing wrong with a happy medium!

I think, whoever adopts you in the future, hopefully the near future as
there
are so many masters out there searching for forever homes, that you will
find new and uniquely lovable features in them that help you bond
quickly:
being an experienced slave will help.

Purrs for you all when it happens

I would like another lady cat... but then with cats who knows. Sweep did
train us very well considering I'd always had dogs as I'm allergic to
cats. She didn't care about that it was our problem.

We'll have to wait to see what happens. At the moment we're working on the
kitchen and with all the swearing and shouting (DIY is not our thing) at
least no cat is being traumatised.

It sounds like you are prepared for anything.

You'll have to wait and see who Sophie and Sweep will choose for you.

That thought is quite worrying with Sweep's jealousy and then that sense
of humour. Sophie would just be laid back and let her have her way. Then
watch to see what happens.

Awww.  I was surprised that you didn't have another cat.  You always
mentioned Sweep when talking about Sophie, so I built up this vague
idea over the years that Sophie had a counterpart.

I've been monogamous so far (who knows about the future) with my cats.
Sweep was never far from my thoughts even when Sophie was here, so that's
probably why I spoke of her a lot.

Poor Sophie wouldn't have stood a chance with Sweep. Sweep took no
prisoners and would not have shared at all.

You know you're welcome to post here anytime, cat or not.  Please be
kind to yourself, okay?  I know we all go through that guilt, but I
hope you will be gentle with yourself.

May Sophie send you a new furry one when you are ready.

Nice to see you posting again, Judith.
I know only too well that guilty feeling, but it's rarely justified, just a
normal part of grieving I think.
May your heart soon heal enough for you to be a meowmie again.  Don't wait
too long before you at least look around, s/he might be waiting for you
soon.  You will know which one it is when you meet.

Thanks Christina.

The cats next door are enjoying the freedom of our garden at the moment as
Sophie wouldn't allow them in. They'll have to move out or make friends if
we get another puss.

I'm still stroking any cat I can. Well I have to make sure my allergy
isn't coming back don't I?
