As computer geeks, when DH and I are home, we are mostly in the
office.  Or maybe I should call it the game room.  Well, anyway, the
office is also one of Oscar's favorite hangouts, as she can sit on the
sill and watch all the activity in front of our house.  As a bonus, we
often leave the window open, even when the A/C is on, because the room
gets so hot with all the computers running.

Well, I finally decided that my college desk just wasn't the best for
my setup anymore.  The first change was to swap out my seriously
sturdy Ikea desk (which, according to my dad, could support a Buick
without buckling) for a simple 6' banquet table.  The kind with the
folding legs.  That weirded her out a good bit, but nothing compared
to ...

you won't believe this ...

putting my buzz lightyear action figure on the window sill.

Yes, change out desks, just a sniff here and there.  But put a toy on
her sill ....

She wouldn't even jump up at first.  She kept looking at the toy, then
putting her front paws on the sill, then looking at me and meowing
like a lost soul.  Rinse, repeat.  I told her she could still jump up
there, but she wouldn't believe me.  After about 20 minutes, she
finallhy, with great bravery, jumped up and proceeded to sniff Buzz
over and over.  Sniff a bit.  Look out the window.  Sniff some more.
Meow confusedly.  Sniff more.

She seems to finally have come to terms with Buzz, but wow.  Cats!

I know. I went and bought some extremely soft fleece of solid color today to
replace the berber blankets in the cat trees because I am tired of the
prints all over. Well, my God, you would think I had put boiling acid in
Sugar's favorite bed instead of material taht is three times as soft as the
old blanket. She'll get over it, but right now, she is NOT best pleased.

Deadly Duo are no different....cats hate changes and will let their
displeasure be apparent to their slaves.
